you have all been beaton with this one

Don't be too quick to judge... as they say, you can't make an omlette without eggs. If you can't understand that, it simply means the pictures/artwork available are not of a good enough quality to continue with the project (as stated in the posts)
As Tommy suggests, have a go yourself, or if your not able, try and obtain some better pictures... it may then get resurrected.

Thank-you gent's....

Spent a good few hours on that yesterday, and several of the 'lamp flash' bits are removed and also the buttons are on, right now i'm trying to redo the JP Symbol.....really enjoying doing this Emu.

One really weird thing though, whilst playing with some lamps I thought i'd see what an alpha would do (as I remember it this dosn't have One)...yet on booting the machine it say's FLC (Fuit Link Club) and on playing gives the Hi Lo etc?

All barcrest fruits that dont have a alpha still send data to the port, from a programming POV theres no need to remove the code.

As an engineer, It was particularly handy on the old rios etc when it threw up an uncommon alarm code as you didnt need a manual, just plug an alpha in and it would tell you :)

Right well after seeing this thread again, I didn't want it to die off. So if nobody minds I'd like to attempt to go ahead with creating a layout. I've had this week off so it has given me some time to give it some attention.

Due to the quality of the artwork we have currently I have pretty much taken the route of re-drawing most of the top and bottom glass. It's by no means a perfect match, but I feel at this point it is close enough and the best way to go until we have some proper artwork turn up.

I still need to tidy some bits up, but I've attached a couple of pics of the top and bottom glass(at very reduced quality and size, the actual file is obviously higher res and quality) so you can get an idea of what to expect.

I tried to upload better quality images, but for some reason the forum automatically reduces the quality and size significantly. But on the previous page of this thread, there are really high res images attached.

Weird :/

I see, so is this saying that I am ok to continue? Or would you prefer me not to? I'm kind of reluctant to drop it after putting this much time into it.

I've got it all together and the cab done now.

At the end of the day, we should both continue. Variation is good and also...my version is a PDX and yours is a DX. The proper enthusiasts of our community wouldn't even want to play my version anyway.

EDIT: Seriously... why do my attachments get their resolution and quality reduced.. yet I see bigger ones in other posts?

Go for it Moco, that looks really stunning by the way :) ........ May even 'borrow' some bit's lol.

Mabey you could have offered to have helped me bud?...Weird thing is, only just dawned on me has this, in all my time (thanks to DAD) this is the FIRST time anyone has ever given me a layout-to-go...even though I have given many.

For the record, i've also put hours and hours into it...started restarted etc etc....One time I had something I was happy with only for me to have a hdd fail :( bloody cheap equipment haha.

That attached image is full screen for me when I click on it.

that look great moco, i think you should both go for it in case one gets lost in the process of making them as this release has been almost 7yrs in the making. a dual release on here and dads.

I feel bad now. I should have probably just offered to make it for you, but at the start I didn't really know how it would go or if I'd even finish it. I just thought I'd start to re-draw some bits of it... then a bit more... and before I knew it, I'd done most of it.

It's been a long while since I've been making layouts, I have just been enjoying picking it up again..... and as you and any layout designer will know...... after a while of working on something (especially ones like this which requires so much time spent on it) you become attached in some way. Once I'd drawn it.... I felt I just really had to see it through.

I'm happy to sit back and not release anything and pass you on the art I have made for the machine for you to make the layout from. However, I'd kind of like you to use the complete artwork to work from. I've spent a lot of time on this and would like it to be put to use as a whole rather than using bits and bobs from it.

I do stand by what I said though, some people aren't keen on PDX versions.

Don't be daft Moco, get it done. I'm sure Ady won't mind!!

For what it's worth you've done a stunning job with the re-draw and it deserves to be 'out there'. We'll have two completely different DX's to choose from which is much better than non at all.

This is the problem designers have I'm sorry to say. You pick yourself a project and work away on it blissfully unaware that someone else is doing the same thing. It's happened to me many times but that's the nature of the game I'm afraid.
