When MFME v2 was released it was in it's pressent state... Able to emulate a lot more techs than the MFME v1.1

When the emulator was being made, epoch tech was going to be included as one of the tech's emulatorable. For reasons unknown to myself, the designers chose not to include the epoch tech in the new emulator.

Hopefully one day it will happen, but best to wait for as we don't want the fruitmachine companies putting a hault to the emu scene (as much as they can) like Empire did not so long back and JPM have done with there Cludeo Quiz Machine which was released.

The guy requesting New York could try downloading "on the buses" if he hasnt already its about 99% the same game from what I remember, although maybe not as evil as the latter epoch New York.

Wasnt there a rumour that Maygay released a few New York machines on m1a/b when it was on test? (As I think this was one of the earlier epoch machines)

Speaking of epoch then (again) do youse reckon its not released due to legal ethical or the difficulty of creating it. I always thought the latter.

Anyway New York and its evil clone "X marks the spot" would probably be the first epoch machines I would play, then probably London Underground if the emulater saw light of day.

Id shoot your messenger if I was you.

Thus far there isnt even a good hitatchi core to work with.

There will not be an epoch emulator any time soon.

All recent maygay machines are mpu5, they are now owned by IGT and thus barcrest (who are also owned by IGT and now produce machines under the maygay logo) use their known, safe and trusted mpu5.

The problem with emulating epoch is the core CPU. It's a RISC hitatchi CPU and very very complicated to emulate, not impossible but very very complicated.

Epoch wasnt a very good tech and very few good machines were produced on it that are worth writing such a bumblef*** of a core for.

Unlike MPU4 and impact, although even saying that there arent that many great impacts (rollercoaster indy and clones aside).

However MPU4 and impact use pretty simple processors, not 32 bit hitatchi RISC ones.

The core has been emulated by a guy called R belmont, but it was written for 3D arcade games and thus is f*****g useless for a fruit machine emulator.. by the time all the problems with the core that's out there are fixed it would be easier to start from nothing and totally write the core.

And the problem we now face is that one of our high level emulator authors is no longer around and the other has just completely redesigned the front end on his emulator and most of its coding, so the chance of him (wizard) bothering to write epoch are very slim.

Maybe one day, but I would lay a fiver it wont be one day soon.

Halt to the emu scene? f*** I must have missed all the main sites closing down.

What really happened was this.. people refused to pay attention to empire about their new machines and thus empire didnt grant permission to publically emulate their machines.

That was cool and most adhered to it out of respect, but its a bit late once the emulator is out there, what you gonna do delete it?

Pfft, yeah right.

As for JPM I would summise they didnt give a flying f*** about their game being passed around, the problem began when someone started talking about hacking their encryption and dongle to play all of their latest machines, at which point they stepped in and got a lawyer to hand out cease and desist orders to those hosting it.

At no point did the emu scene halt, I really dont know where you get all this cockameemy crap from, seriously think before you post.

This stuff is really scary.

We've all been lied to. Epoch was gonna be in MFME2 but was dropped before release. Unbelievable!

The scene is gonna end. JPM are gonna bust a cap in yo ass likes. My artistic talents (as basic as they are) will have to settle to manipulating mucky pictures from now on.

Hang on! I could be the scene's saviour. Yes... Here look...

I give you the Fruit Machine Emulation Inner Circle....

Peplies to threads

I Have either remembered incorectly as the conversation was a long time ago but I was talking to pash and he told me that epoch was going to put in the emulator. Now it's either that or an other tech like a newer scorion or something. All I can remember is being suprised as it was an unemulated tech.

I give you the Fruit Machine Emulation Inner Circle....

It's ''djgaryc''

I am definatly not in the inner circle, only trying to help someone withone asking a question by answering what I can recall... rbervoets, if I have made a error in what I have said, I am sorry.

Where the f*** in any of my posts does it say the emu scene has ended?... Read it before you post! Your getting all excited in what I have put, quite possably in error and deciding to reply for reading it all!.... It says companies putting a hault (as much as they can) as like with JPM getting a lawyer involved... ALL companies could do this and try and stop hosting of there games. If JPM can do it for the machine you said, then surly all companies can refuse the hosting of there games too??????

Instead of just mocking what others say and belittle, why couldn't say no, djgaryc has got it wrong, In one post put; not 4... what happened was this....

f*** me if someone makes an error! Not exactly end of the world is it.

not too sure who has thrown whos toys out of the pram, but i would personally commend djgaryc for his efforts, be they right or wrong.

`only trying to help someone withone asking a question by answering what I can`

sums it up in a nut shell. He may have got it wrong, but he only tried to help?

i am in the inner circle, and im now going back to play piefactory p1.
