Hi,

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I'm looking to buy my first gambler for home use, and have seen Cops and Robbers deluxe here:

http://www.fruitmach...ng_specials.htm (Recommended by one of you doods in another post)

3 Questions:

1. Is £425 a good price for Cops and Robbers Deluxe
2. I can't remember whats the difference between Cops and Robbers and Cops and Robbers deluxe (If any)
3. Is there an Emu for C+R deluxe about... not seen one, or a DX version of Public Enemy No.1 (Old student Fav! :D)

Alternatively if anyone recommends another club machine for home use please let me know :)

Many thanks,

Longpot

Thanks, I've seen both those, but they don't have it advertised...

Was the deluxe version just a remake or was it slightly different?

Thanks again

That seems more than just a little steep to me!
It is an oldish machine - not a 'classic' in the true sense of the word, but a fun, entertaining machine [if in the right mood!], and one with certain strategies.

But that means fudge all for a home user. It is based on Scorp 2, and uses tubes - not the most reliable payout system in the world, and might give hassle. Also being based on Scorp 2 means that compared to say - my MPU5 machine it'll be harder to fault find, although I'd imagine there would be a reasonable supply of ones in bits to steal from.

Anyone else agree?

I'm not saying it's bad to buy old machines, but it is too old for the money when you can get MPU5 club machines for that much, or MPU5 pub machines for 1/2 from suppliers.

Hmmm ok...

Like I said this will be my first gambler...

I would like summit like Club Cops and Robbers / Public Enemy No.1 coz I grew up on those babies!

I've seen Bellfruits have brought out a refurb: Club Cops and Robbers Gold.... bet that works with a hopper... prob costs a bomb though :-(

Any suggestions on whats good to buy then (Club machines preferably..)

Thanks,

Longpot

....There is nothing wrong with CNR Club/Deluxe, just don't get ripped off :)

Yes, the Bell Fruit Scorp4 'Refurb' of CNR is out.....and AFAIK it isin very few ways related. It will have a hopper, it doesnt have the LED Matrix [which was the best part IMHO :)]....although apparently Ronnie Barker does some of the voices - but thats not enough of a redeeming feature :)

Same situation as Pie Factory - which I hate btw :)
They have a machine which they know EVERYONE apart from myself enjoys....then they replace it with a version that looks the same, but I bet you it plays worse than that feckin Bell Fruit AWP where you have to get on a 1>7 trail with no bonus on 4 and the 4 lowest prizes are sub £2 and always kill you and the features are all crap....Oh, suppose most of that describes a lot of modern machines, not just Bell Fruits, but that one inparticular was nasty. I think its a clone of Crazy Fruits Down-Under! - yet again, the original = Good, refurb = Bad.....if youve ever played the Crazy Fruit rebuild you will know what I mean - I put £15 in on £5 jp, and got 1 board entry...........for 60p :O<!$!

Sorry, I went off the rails a little there...back to the original thing, Yes get CNR Club, the best value ones are on eBay, normally for £175>£300, and theres also been several of Premier Club Manager on there, same era but cheaper! [I think they also have the LED Matrix]

Thats it, I'm off...

B.T.W....WHERE HAVE THOSE LIGHTS ABOVE MY NAME GONE? Its too dark now :(

Many thanks Beni...

I think I'll hang around and wait til I can get what I really want rather than just buying for the sake of buying... :D

LOL at ur Pie factory rant... I really enjoy this site, seeing people put on the forums what I've been feeling for many yrs now

Premier Club Manager... another good machine (all roughly same IMO). GAME SHOW, now thats a gambler I've not heard of for a while, that was a great little club machine too!

I've been looking on E-Bay for a while now, and I guess like you said I just have to get lucky with whats put on there... oh well, something will come up soon enough! :)

BTW, your spot on about the matrix being removed...

Anyone know where I could buy Club Monopoly? (Another Student fav)

P.S. In case you were wondering, yes I did spend 99% of my student yrs playing gamblers, and I wouldn't change it for the world... those babies funded many a drunken night for me and my mates!!! :D  :D

The differences between Cops and Robbers and the Deluxe version seem to be just the machine colour. I'm sure theres more to it than that. It could be something simple that the deluxe version was a straight forward re-release. Maybe the origional C & R was a 10p £4 JP when first released where as the Deluxe, may have been a 20p version with a £4.80 or £6 JP. The 'blue' emulated version has a £10 JP which I assume is several re-chips away from it's origional form. Thats just a suggestion of course.

Enjoy the pics

I just noticed that I was assuming you meant the alternative version of Cops 'N Robbers club...is it the Club one or the AWP [£6] one that you were talking about?

Thanks for the piccies Compost :)

I was looking for a Club version, there seems to be a 'standard' and a 'deluxe' for those aswell, maybe its the same thing (colour + advanced chipset...)

The original Cops and Robbers only went to £200, Deluxe increased this to £250. I believe a later chip increased the original to £250 also.

Deluxe was in a newer, taller, larger cabinet and was dark blue instead of light blue.

Deluxe was the first time the stories of the dreaded Cashpot frequency switch started coming out, I assume it was introduced on Deluxe then put in standard programs after an update. Deluxe did not seem to respond to forcing the same way that the original did, particularly with cashpot nudges on the reels.
