I have a showtime spectacular had it for about a year now!

I bought it with the £8 Jackpot Chip..

I was wondering whether i need to buy the other £5 and £15 chip, or is there a way i can change the Jackpot, without having the chips?

If so, How? Thi would be great if anyone knew how!

And if not, does anybody have the chips i need?

Thanks Alot!

James

You could try bell fruit. They will be able to tell you whether or not its a new chip or a switch you need to change. If your lucky they may be able to tell you somewhere thats likely to have the chip. I spoke to BFM before when I owned a machine they were quite helpful. Although they did have to go find a guy who had worked there a while to understand half of my questions.

On a more personal note, Showtime spectacular is a very playable machine. Good Choice IMO.

Aye!

Ive emailed bell fruit game after sales team and also their main email address!

Lets see what they say, although on their spares page of their site, there is sum pages referring to changing the stake, although i have no idea if this applies to showtime!

Have jus been on my machine for the first time in about 4 munth, ya no as it been winter, and it stored in my garage its been rather cold... Just filled it back up!

ok heres the deal

you will have to look at the chip that you have and see if it says anything on it ie: showtime spectacular £8.00 jackpot.

if thats all it says then you need a replacement chip that allows you to change the stake and prize settings.

thats the difficult part (finding a chip)

if the chip just says showtime spectacular and a number then you may already have the correct chip and all you need to do is change the stake and prize settings on the key(we will come to that if you have one)

regarding spares, let me know what you need and i can try to get something for you if its non specific items for that machine.

erm...

The chip im sure said showtime spec £8, but this was handwritten, so it may contain all the 3 stakes, and they just thought it contained 1? maybe! ill have a look in a min...

I dont have a key though, so one of them would be helpful, and so wud a decent back door lock, as the one ive got doesn't seem to keep the door close enuff towards the button thta keeps hte white button switch held down!

If ya get what i mean!

Ive contacted BFm about it too, so ills ee wyhat they say, so Bazbeep? where do we go from here?

Oh Also... I can change the stake, just not the jackpot.. so i can have either 5p, 10p, or 20p... So im guessing i dunt need a chip?

definatly sounds like you need the correct chip.

when you change the stake is it on a key with 2 banks of switches thats plugged in halfway up on the right hand side or is it on the motherboard???

i can supply you with replacement locks for 99p per lock plus postage but to solve the problem you have you may just need to bend the long part(tongue) of the lock so its nearer the cabinet.

let me know and we can sort it out.

I have sorted the lock thing, i just had to bend the tongues a little!

As for the stake change, its half way up the right hand side of the machine, like jumper settings...

Where do we go now?

so i gather its a little board halfway up the machine with 2 banks of switches on it??

can you take a picture and post it on here because different stakes and prizes keys have different settings.

BFm have replied to my email

Sorry but we no longer support this machines and therefore have no manuals
or software available.
You could try contacting a local Amusement Machine Operator or Distributor
, they may be of assistance.

Thank You

i am afraid to say your stuck on the £8 chip and the only way to change it is getting hold of a £5 chip or a £10 chip which will now be pretty scarce.

the key i was talking about wont work.

if its been left a while in a clod garage then the power supply will be buggered.

maygays are notorious for this fault when a machine has been left for a while outside room temperature.

ok thanks for that!

Another thing, or should i sway two!

Firstly!

Say i win an amount no showtime, my start button also acts as the collect button, which is pretty annoying! anyway to fix this?

Secondly!

Some of the bulbs stay on all the time, and do not flash on and off, should this be, and if not, what can i do to sort it out?

Oh yeh and any chance i can change percentage payout? and how do i found out what its currently at?

Thanks alot for all your help Baz

first question

you might just have a wire that has accidently crossed over onto the start button connector that plugs into the microswitch for the start button.
to check this you will have to remove the reels and unclip the front button panel to check the connectors for the switches.also could be an mpu fault.

second question

you have a short out on one of the transistors for the lights on the mpu.
unfortunatly you will need a replacement mpu to sort this unless you want to send it to a fruit machine company for repair but this will cost more than a replacement.

third question

you can change the % settings with a variable % key which i think should be plugged in on the roof of the cabinet(it will either be a coloured key with the % written on it or a key with a bank of 4 switches).

i can supply a variable key for £2.50 if you dont have one which comes with all the % settings.

i also have a manual for showtime spectacular which i can sell for a fiver.

Ok, i can live with the light problem as i dont want to be upsetting the MPU..

I checked the buttons this afternoon, and i didn't really see anything that look wrong, but heh wot wud i knoww! ill post a pic of the buttons l8r on!

% Key is not thurr, so i will be requiring one of those...

As for the manual is this a original paper type or a .pdf type?

Thanks James
