As you may know, I've been trying to emulate the MPU4 platform in open source, in order to try to find the few remaining problems with the Video card emulation.
However, my schematics do not include the actual gamecard that plugs into the unit.
If anyone has the ability to photograph their gamecard and post a picture here, I would appreciate it (I would like to see the version without the sampled sound as well, so that I can determine just what difference there is code wise).

Cant offer technical advice myself as I am a complete nugget when it comes to this stuff but what games used video card emulation? Regarding the game card issue didnt the QPS game red hot Wheels use one of these, which prevented its emulation??? Love that game, would have it over any mpu5 game( well with the exception of barcrest Revoloution and flying circus maybe)
Anyway best of luck with this

The track side is absolutely perfect, and I can get a lot from the component side one.And the tracks on the other side attached, hope they're clear enough.
Dave.
However, I can't quite make out some of the chip names, if you could provide those it would help.
PS. If anyone has the gamecard that goes on an ordinary non-video Barcrest MPU4, that'd help too, as I might as well work on both at the same time.
RE: Prizeguy - there are different types of gamecard, each with their own individual components (like upgrades for the MPU4). I don't know about Hot Wheels, but I imagine that the particular combination on that game is different to any of the others.
The video type games are things like Monte Carlo or Bust, Red Hot Poker, Miami Dice etc - I expect that they'l be protected in a similar way to the other BwB stuff, but I'll at least try.

I've got some MPU4 cartridges I can send to you if you like. None of them work as I've been stripping a few components from them, but they may be of use to you.
I'll dig them out and post some pictures of them if you like.

Thanks, I'll have a think about what I would need, and then get back to you.
I don't suppose you have an actual working MPU4 machine by any chance - at some point I'm going to have to compare my timing simulations with the real thing, rather than MFME 2.0's debugger.

Although I haven't added the information from those pictures into the emulator yet, it is helping me to understand a little more about the hardware, and what it's expecting.
I know this is cheeky, but Monte Carlo or Bust contains a video card (I think) - and my schematics for that are pretty poor. Can anyone provide a similar set of scans of that, or even an ordinary (not sampled sound) MPU4 gamecard?

do you want the main video board scanning or the serial link card that plugs into the mpu4?

Thanks for all of these - I've been a little preoccupied with preparations for making the huge changes to the awpvid system that will soon be necessary - but I will merge the information from these in eventually, honest

Just as a progress update on this, I've finally emulated enough of the 6840 chip for me to be able to start plugging it into the AGEMAME driver.
Currently though, the program is doing something very weird, and not setting the chip up properly, so still no screenshots.

Speaking of MPU4 Video, does anyone have the Sunburst Sound ROM's?
Thanks.
Thanks.
