Apologies TO ALL. Turns out my cpu fan was a sign of the motherboard dying which I have now discovered is because of my PSU. My computer wont be up for another week and so I apologise. I have about half of the coding done but can't continue without my pc. I'm using a Cyrix 166+ just to do internet access but it wont load my copy of VB.

Sorry for the delay and the week where I couldn't get on here I will post updates as they happen.

Regards Guitar

Not to worry Guitar :)

I'm sure we can all wait a bit longer - well done for all your hard work and effort so far, and good luck with the rest of it.

Don't worry, it justs keeps us all in suspense! But still 3gb seems quite a lot. I wonder how long it will take to download on 56k?

Hello, I am back up and running with a shiny new PSU, Motherboard and Fans (not that tha fans are important). I'm not sure which file people have seen that is 3Gb but it certainly is NOT anything I have written. I have some overclocking setups to get through but I am still going to continue with the simulator.

I'll not give a definate date for anything but will give some regular updates as to its progress. I've managed to get my head around what I want to do on paper over the last week so It should be quite simple to do. If anyone has ever coded a fruit machine for basic on the old ZX spectrum machines this sort of thing should be easier. I haven't used vb much lately and it seemed a good project to get back into with.

I had an idea about modifying the emulators on the site to create a virtual arcade whereby you choose a machine to play on and then download the rom from a server. Then try to win as much as possible on the machine. Then once you have played the rom uploads to the server with the new %. Obviously the rom download is locked until the player re uploads the new file so that only one player can use a machine at once. It just seems that the emulators would be more fun if you were competeing against other people to win. You would obviously have a running total of how much you have lost / won over time. Plus if you're trying to give up playing machines thru addiction it would help you see how much you would have lost by playing machines in a state where you never know whats been before.

Just an idea though, what do you guys think???

Does anoyone have a good front on shot of a reel glass for party time stadium. With buttons would be v handy. The shots on the flyers are straight on for the whole machine so the reel glasses are tilted and when straightened do not look good.

I'll be checking in regularly today if anyone has any suggestions, advice, ideas, comments etc.

Multi player Monopoly/ Golden X then too.. #

If you mean Golden Game with the golden X by barcrest (i believe) then I would have a go. As for monopoly well I would be happy to try but I haven't played one yet myself. Our local has a Party time stadium 4 way and a 3 way Golden Game. I'll have to wait till my holidays till I get near a monopoly.

Its mainly the graphics are an issue. If anyone can supply artwork to make a sim for golden game I will try and incorporate it. As for monopoly well I haven't played one so it wont come out as good.

It would be quite hard (i think) to do a plasma version of Monopoly. The standup version of Monopoly is the same as Golden Game. But the standup version artwork is on Mazoomas site along with the Golden Game artwork.

Its coming along nicely, ive managed to get the bits I couldn't remember how to do done. I'm working on it this weekend for hopefull release Monday. I do need some help with some artwork though. I need a good clear shot of the front glass on one of the sit down machines. A nice clear shot of each of the bits which light up with the player number on would be very handy too. If anyone knows where I might be able to find these pics online then that would be fine too.

Im writing the engine at the moment for the payouts. The percentage will be variable like real machines. Does anyone know whether the lowest they can be set to is 70% or 80%. I've seen people on here say that low techs should be minimum 80% but is that a recommendation for owners or a minimum set by the machine? I have 4 ideas for different styles of play varying from flat to lumpy payout profiles.

I'm hoping the first release will include the option of having slave machines which get played in the background. I'm afraid that the first version will be in 1280*1024 resolution because I didn't think to put it down to 1024*768 before I coded it.

Would people prefer en early release with minimal artwork (akin to classic layouts) or would you prefer waiting for a refined release?

I'll update later today or tomorrow.
