I think DW bit the dust completely...I tried accessing it from my favourites and affiliates area but I just get a 404 redirect to here...
Yes, you might think it as a ghost town, or make jokes about "dead"..But I made lots of friends there...Had a good arcade, well run forums...If you saw any of my earlier posts with "do u do that" or "i got 2 tell" and a spell at DW and I'm changed...
Good for you...... no-one told Hurtand to get rid of his site, he did this purely because he didnt like what a couple of people said and wanted to throw a hissy fit about it.
I'm thinking of a Bring Back Hurt campaign to make him want to get into FME again...SURE a few of you didn't like his idea...
Why??? It was him who decided to leave and turn his back on the community for some reason or another and i for one have lost alot of respect for him because of this and think its childish.
Now if you think about it I can bet the bank that lots of computers of theirs have Hurt's layouts on them...I bet they wonder "How does he make layouts so well? They should just speak out and say how good his layouts are...
Same as 1000's of computers have mine, pooks, pandy's, trouty's, Bugs, DAD's, Ross's, retro's,ady's and LOADS of other people's..... as iv said Hurtand is the one who had decided he's gonna close his site and not gonna be a part of the scene anymore because of this.... so he's quitting just because people have challenged the fact that he's trying to get loads of people to his site in exchange for a layout... him leaving because of this is such a bloody stupid way for him to make a point and maybe if this was the case then shouldnt have released his layouts in the first place.
500 plus people on Deadworld...Now I bet a lot of them were after a download there!!!
Exactly people point crazy..... whats the point in bribing people over there for a layout , just so they can download it and bugger off until he's released another...... this point has been made already and not so long ago even i didnt agree with it but after reading what people say it makes sense to me fully now.... why encourage loads of members onto your site that dont join in on the forum.... pointless. Wouldnt it be better to have people who have joined purely because they want to...
OK now Hurt's had it all, why dont we all have go at DAD or Pook for not immediately posting theur downloads here!!!! But of course, we dont for some reason and we let it pass with all the real congatulations and this and that...No problem with DADSFME, DXcellent or the Mecca but now look...We get into Deadworld territory and it looks like the combination to the safe of abuse has been cracked!!!
So IMHO there was no need for all this...Lots of layouts dont go here AT ALL...Wai 3 days which would be today and we would all be playing it having a good laugh... But instead selfishness and abuse has forced a sit I respected well to close...
Other people have been mentioned before but the fact is that the sites you mentioned arnt the same crazy..... DAD as far as i know has never had a problem with anyone posting his layouts on other forums....... pook doesnt require registration and is a completely straight forward download... and the mecca is a much needed place in fme and is completely on topic and a really useful and helpful place to fme, imh the three main sites are here, fruitforums and the mecca.
Your saying people have been selfish but the fact is crazy whether you like it or not, if you insist on using the word 'selfish' in this situation then the only person that it can really apply to is Hurtand .....
