Oh and just to throw my view in, yes, hybrids are mainly a waste of time as they are not the machine they pretend to be, but sometimes they still turn out better than layouts done with the correct artwork

Not officially I don't think. Pretty sure I released it on public beta at my own webspace with a couple of glaring errors, and never worked on it again.

I may have a copy of it on my HDD but then again, I may not, not as though I really care though :)

What exactly is you problem with alth people?? He says exactly what he thinks and at the end of the day thats fair enough....

This is a public forum and threads are started for discussion, its not a 'either agree with everyone else or dont post on the thread forum'.. If anyone cant take hearing other peoples opinions on things then why post in the first place?

f*** sake people....

Quite right too...Imagine a day in FME with no alth.

Post: I dont like Ebay because/...Bleh bleh...

Next:I agree bleh bleh...

Next: So do I...Bleh Bleh...

And it goes on like that all day, all year probably.

And with Alth it adds more spice to the site...The odd 5 fooks here and 10 shites there never did any harm lol

This is a site for EMULATION purposes of older machines. Not playing strategies.
If you are more interested in playing modern machines,

(DOND is around now on this site..... How long was this sig out of date...!)

Just a thought I've had.

As I said elsewhere, personally I don't see the point in Hybrid layouts - however I've also said that they give people a chance to practise their layout designing skills.

Then I remembered a layout I played a while back. I think it was Fruit Vortex, probably by Jaye but not totally sure. Anyway it was the SupaFruits ROMs, with a totally home made graphic, being a Lo-Tech the Alpha wasn't needed, and it was a great looking layout.

I was wondering if it was worthwhile having an extra section in the forum say *specifically* for Hybrid and Custom layouts?

It would effectively be seperate from the rest of the FME area, but would give an area to those that want to emulate ROMs with custom graphics.

There would have to be a warning somewhere in the section, probably a sticky, basically stating that they are not the original machines, blah blah blah, and this would probably need to be echoed in each release thread.

Just an idea at the moment, just wondered if anyone had any comments or ideas?

Good point, however Jaye's layout is more than just a hybrid 'layout'.
He also made a custom and unique soundrom for it and totally steered it away from being what it was.

I would consider his layout more of an original (like in VP) or a 'clone' in the very least.. basically it makes for something you would actually put coins into and play.

My definition of the word hybrid layout is when someone takes another machine with different artwork (that isnt their own) and makes it into a machine thats just yelling "wrong" but hey, that's just my opinion (however I do strongly agree about the practicing part you pointed out).

Andy and Ben in agreement shocker :D
Not to be confused with illiterate f***wipes.
