My HotStuff has started rejecting coins.. Not all that many, but certainly more than before.

Its especially fussy about 20ps.. Is there anything that can be done to service it, or lower the sensitivity?

all you can do is clean the coin mech on a regular basis.
you would be suprised to see the amount dirt that comes of coinage.

sensitivity is all done through reprogramming which you would have to send to a repair centre.

i had the same problem with my old barcrest sheik ya money machine and as baz said the amount of dirt and crap that builds up is really suprising, but when its cleaned it works perfectly again. (i used abit of cleaner that u use for cleaning tape deck heads worked perfect).

open the machnie and press the eject button and keep it de-pressed. you`ll see a section of the coin-mech come out, you need to hold that and prise it open so you can see inside. depending on what coin mech you have, you should definatly see the dirt ridge that the coins have made.

i really wouldnt suggest a detergent to clean inside! but a glass cleaner or even spit`n`polish will surfice.

see how you go. same routine for note acceptors.
