I'd reccommend you use a control array for the buttons and a single bit of code that is called, adjusted to suit whatever button has been pressed.
It just seemed easier to copy paste each button and change the names from 1 to 2 to 3. asI have to have the seperate buttons anyway. They are in a control array anyway. I found the problem and am setting about button 3 now.

Must say that this project is progressing at an amazing speed. Im sure i speak for many other people (including myself) when expressing my thanks for the work that is being put into this.
All i can say at the moment is keep up the good work, its looking mighty fine!!!
Dont know if you are aware about a couple of the sounds not being correct, as no one else has mentioned this. For example, when getting ontot the top box, the machine will only say 'player two (or whatever number)' followed by only one of the following;
- lets play partytime
- its funtime
- its you.
it would never say more than one of these. And also, the 'congratulations' sample was never used. A couple of tohers that are wrong are the sound when wins add up to the bank from the top box and the insert credit sample.
Obviously these are very minor things. Please for one momement dont think im begin ungrateful. Im mearly offering some (what i believe to be) advice, just in case you weren't aware of these issues. Obviously, nudges, holds, hidden nudges etc are far more important. Other things can be sorted out after this.
Once again, many thanks for all you work guitar, please tell me to shut up if you feel im being too critical, as this is not my intention.
Good luck. Cant wait for the next release....

Once this is finished what should I do an MPU5 simulator or a Sec 16/21 sim?
The speed you knocking things out we could have a MPU5 emu by the end of the week.

That's certainly easier, but isnt as efficient and causes the program to use more memory (VB programs eat memory anyway )

I'm just posting to back-up what was said by Ben a few day's ago......it's amazing how popular this really has turned out to be.
Personally i'm a lover of Party Games, theres just something that draws me towards it whenever I see the machine....and I really cannot wait for this to be completed as its obvious theres some bloody hard work going on here, and it's really nice to see other members creating a new working partnership--this can only be for the good....nice One guy's.
What does confuse me though it sticks out like a sore thumb that, ok I know it's long, but people arn't reading the thread because:-
This was released as a Beta with many known issues..but as guitar said to quash any rumours this whole thing was a myth it was made avalible in the WIP stage....
Poor guitar is now having to answer more Q's on this day after day........and having to repeat a few times too!
Downloaders read the thread for answers..........and let guitar get on with the good stuff

I managed to get a few extra sounds from my astra machine by (carefully!)connecting the machines speaker to line in on my sound card, the sounds are coin in, reel stop, collect, and paying out, hope they help.

Thank for the info about the sound when entering the top box. I did think it seemed a bit long. The credit up sound is from a Crazy Fruits by the sound of it. (I feel so sad knowing that just by hearing it).
If I do anything with MPU5 it will be a Simulator not an emulator. I haven't got a clue where to start building an MPU emulator and it would cause havoc with the fruit-emu scene if I did. All it would be is a set of programmable reels (changed pics to look like whichever machine and then a set of options for the playing style. Lapping with pots, start to end boards, changing playstyles e.g suck /streak or flat play. The advantage being that not only could we recreate machines which are recent legally. But we could design our own machines with changed. Me and Yarmouthpunter were discussing a WWF/E wrestling style machine based on Fight Night or a Red Dwarf Version of Party Time.
With regards to the coding in control arrays I might go back and change the code once I have everything doing what I want it to do but for now its the drawn out easy way i'm afraid. I have never noticed VB eating memory but then again I'm lucky enough to have 2GB of memory and a 2.8GHz Athlon (not 2800+ an actual 2.8GHz)
I have a lot on today so tonights update could be anytime between 7pm and 1am. I may do 2 1 when the nudges work and one when nudges and holds work. Holds are working but you cant win from them.
If anyone wants to learn VB then my advice is buy a book called sAms Teach Yourself Visual Basic 6 in 24 hours, ISBN 0-672-31533-5. It comes complete with a special edition of VB6 in the back too. and acording the cover on my copy its £18.50 but I got it for £6 in a clearence. So shop around. Their website is www.sAmspublishing.com
