Just had a PM from some user called makolajean containing the following message:

My Dear,

Greetings in the precious name of the almighty . My dear,It is by the
grace of the almighty that ,Having known the truth, I had no choice
than to do what is lawful and right in the sight of the almighty for
eternal life and in the sight of man for witness of the almighty mercy
and glory upon my life .It is a pleasure contacting you at last for i
have
waited for this golden moment.I am Mr.Makola Jean ,the Manager Accounting
&
Auditing
department, Union trust Bank of Africa .

Three Years ago ,my late customer died in a fatal accident and was
buried at the state cemetery . My late client ( Dr. Anderson ) has an
account in our Bank with a credit balance of seven Million and five
hundred thousand dollars ($7, 500,000.00),which have been dormant for a
very long time. All efforts to contact the named beneficiary to late Dr.
Anderson's family, with the supplied information proved futile . The

Ghana
banking regulation stipulates that after Three Years of unclaimed money
,
it will be return back to the government account .

My good friend ,am contacting you because ,after my fasting and
prayers my spirit mind told me , you are the only person that can claim
this money as the beneficiary of the fund without sitting on the
money. I also have the necessary information and documents that would
enable you claim the sum as the rightful owner.

Please kindly send me your urgent reply to enable me know the next
step to take, towards the claim of this money.I assure you, 100% risk
free of the transaction. Your percentage in the transaction is 50% and
50% for me.I equally plan to leave my country to yours immediately the
money reflects in to your account and you will help me to invest my
money in your area of specialization. Please send me your full contact
details, like full names, phone and fax number and Full address.

Please reply to : makola_jean@yahoo.com

My best regards,
Mr. Makola Jean.

Quite often these scammers use a disgusting practice of picking names of the dead from news pages (often the likes of the BBC, people that are killed in car / train / bus / place accidents and terrorist attacks for example).

As fun as that might be, it's pretty dangerous to get involved in such things.

1) If you wind up with a keylogger from these scamming gits say in an email, you will be handing over all your bank details and website passwords without even knowing it.

2) People have gone over to meet the scammers. Several people that went over for a laugh found themselves set fire to whilst still alive, or shot.

I guess what I am saying it is that it's quite funny some people got one over on them but I would NOT do it yourself.

Dozens.

Its a shame - but the only contact I have ever had with an African in Africa (and I have spoken to quite a few since I first got the net nearly 10 years back) have ALL been trying to defraud me....

Who the f*** would would fall for a scam like this once you have heard it reported once?

Saying that I have heard of a case close to me, where by all acounts a guy who wasent an idiot "borrowed" over a million in funds to "free up" some money tied up in Africa.

I mean come on - as if the f*****g african goverment would let 7.5million of "unclaimed" money be taken out of the country anyway, there the biggest crooks out there.

There is a real bad explosion of these types of msg's right now, & now it's comming down to abusing PM systems on forums. I get on average about 5 of these Nigerian bullshit e-mails, or something assocated with an international lottery win, mostaly supposadaly from Spain, but i've also had UK 1's popping up too.
