I had the one for the spanish lottery many months ago. The dumbasses
included a real e-mail address so i replied saying i'd forwarded their crap
to the spanish authorities and the feds. (Guess it didn't get actioned)

I got a reply back... "you bastard" or words to that effect. ;)

I know someone who actually fell for this and gave loads of info to the scammers.... they claim they can't get the funds out of the country without a UK bank account, this person actually opened a new account for them to use, however, after repeatedly telling them it was a con, I also found http://419eater.com/ and sent them the link and said READ THIS...
their emails and tactics matched exactly. He then stopped.

Lucky he didn't give them too much info or the account b4 finally stopping.
They even call you (if you give them your number)

God I get these all the time by e-mail and being a member of several chat sites I get PM'ed there too. They always go the same way.

Dear Kind Kind Sir

I hope you can help me...Recently my rich uncle Bong De Bong Gazoomby has died leaving in his will £10,000,000,000,000, 000 squids.

But because all african governments are crooked bastards I need to transfer the money to YOU, because just like READERS DIGEST, you have been specially selected BY OUR COMPUTER to recieve a percentage of our vast wealth.

All I need from you are your bank account details, your house, your car and anything else you are STUPID and LONELY enough to give me. In return I will deposit 10% of my newly found wealth (10% of 0 = f*** ALL!!!) into your account while I roll reefer joints and laugh at you western scum for even being so stupid as to believe me.

Heh heh....I remember one letter I received from one such victim. Female. I entered into this dialogue with her knowing fine well what kind of scam it was. I asked for a photo. She sent me one. I told her that I was a film producer and I might be able to cast her in one of my movies but I needed a more scantily clad picture before I could decide. She sent me one of her in a bikini. Then I told her I had a film lined up for her called "DEBBIE DOES DALLAS"....and that I needed a nude photo. She sent me one of them too. All under the promise that I'd give her my bank account details and bring her across to this country if she did so.

She wasn't suitable for the part......lol ;)

You should have seen the murderous e-mail I received afterwards when I told them about my wind-up. Serves the bitch and her accomplices right.

Condolensces Gaz.

I am deeply sorry to hear of the death of your Uncle Bong de Bing de Gazooombaloomba.

Good posting though, I think I must be immune to 419 scams or Yahoo filters them into the trash folder but I have NEVER received one of these. Is it true that you can't con an honest man (as the saying goes)? I'm not convinced.

I think it's more true to say Nudgeman...that you can't con someone with a little common sense.

Never mind about my uncle. My Aunt Chiminey Chin Chin Van Dyke Magombo is now over her loss and is back flogging pretend fortunes at an e-mail address near you very soon. ;)
