i started as a trainee engineer when i was 18 ,i didn't have to go to college as i did an electronics module when i was in 5th year at school, only other thing i needed was standard grade maths and physics.

most training is done once you have been employed.

there is a difference between a standard fruit machine engineer that works in arcades and the job i do.

i have to cover the whole of scotland and have to be trained in fault finding with more equipment other than fruit machines.

we have employed people in the past that have been sparkys as there is loads of cable running when installing jukeboxes.

at the moment there are 5 engineers including myself that have started from scratch with fruit machine servicing,1 engineer that was previously a tv/video repair man and a former washing machine hoover repair man.

OK James, Adyb. First of all we need to decide what days we are going. Ady are you talking about Friday 15th, Saturday and then coming back Sunday. Does that suit you James?

I go to a little B & B at North Pier...Only 10 minutes walk from the tower. I can give 'em a ring if we decide on that weekend and see what's happening. I know it's gonna be busy but they have lots of contacts in their street. It costs about £20 per night but the beds are comfortable. No rubber sheets in sight...lol

www.thelyndhurst.com

There are 2 railway stations. Blackpool north and Blackpool south. My train arrives at Blackpool North so depending on where you are travelling from depends which station you arrive at. There are a couple of coach stations too.

Are the Fruit-Emu t-shirts still on the go? We could get a few made up. "Fruit-Emu Grand Blackpool Tour 2006"....lol

Anyway, let me know fellas.

Might want to move this to a new thread as I seem to have hi-jacked this one....Oops, sorry!!!

If the guys are up for it Mangolio...I'll be in touch. Should be a laugh...lol
