A 4 minute Capture is 85Mb In size and I need to reduce it to a manageable size with min loss of quality and frame rate.
I know this can be done as i have seen, video on Youtube etc.
Can anyone help?
I used AVI to Mpeg Converter on my file and it went down to 41Mb but the video was Jerky.

ive been video editing for year!
the 3 best options (for you)are as follows -
1. mpeg-2. a far smaller file than a .avi is produced, but will take time to produce. the end results are as good as the original .avi
2. mpeg-4. nero recode can do this for you for even smaller files.
3. DIVX is by far the smallest and crystal clearest program ive ever used.
* remember * the videos you see on the net have been specifically cut down to size for streaming purposes.
as far as editing goes, it has to be done at .avi level on a standard computer. i used to have a dual cpu serve workstation with a pinnacle dvd500 capture card that could render mpeg2 files in real time, now with a standard 3.2 intel, some projects can take several hours to complete. im currently using adobe premiere pro 2.0 that has an excellent mpeg exporter built in, as well as windows streaming media support. download a trial version from adobe.com and give that a try m8.

If your looking to put your clip on youtube and putfile and want a smaller file size, follow this little guide http://upload.video....nvert-video.php
Well I jumped into the river
Too many times to make it home
I'm out here on my own, an drifting all alone
If it doesn't show give it time
To read between the lines

goto www.divx.com and check it out. if i said the finished movie was a 20th of the original size, i might be under doing it!
