this is not a dig at anyone on this thread but i love it when people give the industry a hard time when in actual fact the fruit machine industry are actually giving the free people of the uk a choice where to spend their money.

most people on this forum are obviosly interested in fruit machines whether it be old or new machines so hopefully they have enough sense to know when to stop.some people (not talking about people on this site )think its an absolute travisty when a fruit machine takes money from them and they feel the need to fiddle the machine to get a profit.this is not the way forward!!!!
yes i work within the industry but i also like to play fruit machines as well.

my only advice is play fruit machines with the knowledge that you may lose all your money.people will always try to get one over on the fruit machine but beleive me this happens very rarely.

my advice is enjoy a fruit machine and dont let it take money from you that you cant afford.

now on a different subject...

i am pissed and i need a slash so goodnight and i will look forward to the replies of ' that machine took 100 quid of me so i deserve to f***in smash it up' in the morning.

goodnight all

you are very much right baz yes fruit machines do eventually rip you off but hey the player knows this and he still plays
it is after all AMUSEMENT WITH PRIZES not get rich quick

The whole idea of the fruit machine is for its vendor to make a profit while entertaining the player . To complain or try to cheat is like burning your monopoly board game because you got the jail square.

I don't agree with this at all. Yes it's true that by me putting my money in the slot I am agreeing to be skanked, however impressionable (learning disabled etc./ Old people like my grandad who has altzheimers) and young children on the £5 jackpot machines shouldn't be included. The industry aims at the child market look at the franchises they have supported; and all the deliberately cartoony characters they use. We say that children are not responsible enough to drink/ sex etc.. But then fruit machine manufacturers aim at them. Plus the fact that gamblers who are addicted are exploited in the same way addicts are by drug dealers.

In many ways I think the industry deserves what it gets -- SOrry if that upsets all you engineers and industry bods.. I would never rob off machines, but consider it there own fault... Stay out the kitchen!!

I agree targeting children is wrong but what pisses on your argument is that folks drink underage and folks have sex underage any law as such would be pretty toothless and I doubt it would be enforced.

Sorry James...Should every arcade...

a) Have a sanity test before you can get in?

B) Ban all old people from arcades. How the hell can you tell if someone's got altzheimers ffs???

c) Keep everyone under 18 out of arcades. How should this be done while the law states that they can get in?

I'm pretty ignorant on this subject....but you can show me what you mean in Blackpool.

Well at least one £5 tells us that its not all for on the drugs and stuff, but still inexcusable.

At least most of us are happy living and working to earn our money instead of cheating machines to see what we can find.

Explain that to a policeman.

YOU - 'I'm doing nuffing wrong innit'
POLICEMAN - '... So I'm guessing the arcade owner gave you PERMISSION to tamper with HIS gaming machine with YOUR key then son?'
YOU - 'Yeah but no but yeah but no but...'

It's classed as fraud basically. You have no right to interfere with the operators machines.

It pisses me off because I own machines, have refill keys, but wouldn't dream of using one in public. It REALLY pisses me off because leaves those who are 'addicted' open to being fleeced by underage chav scum monitoring machines, knowing hopper levels, leaving machines dead for the next punter and taking their money out afterwards in an immoral way.

If I caught you touching one of my machines with your key you'd have to have it surgically removed from your eye socket.

Wonder if it does feel great actually.
You get in there, have to be extra careful you wont be caught, then when the money comes out, you wonder if it belonged to an old pensioner who's just lost his weekly allowance, a tramp who has lost chance at dinner tonight, then you get home and worry about whether you will get caught all the time, afraid to answer the door or pick up the phone...But you can't stop! Because for that moment you feel invincible, and then it hits home "what have I done?"
Then you get caught and when you're in it all, no ones going to want to help.
