Got Vamp it up for my birthday. Excellent condition, spare bulbs and button graphics for £170. One thing the guy said though was that it never gives a jackopt repeat. Is this true??

I got my first machine a few weeks ago barcrest revolution, regarding Vamp it up I have played on it a few times at £5 jackpot and £25 jackpot what is yours set at? The vamp it up feature go can go for quite a bit when ready, I have never getting a jackpot symbol repeat but I imagine it will repeat sometime, probably during its natural streak. I once thought monty phython flying circus could not repeat but it did to my amazement one day. I cant imagine a company ever programming a machine with a jackpot repeat chance which will never never repeat. I mean I was convinced cash lab could not repeat but it did on the emu the other day for the first time after about £2000 had gone through the games meters.

I would set vamp it up at £25 jackpot mate if it isnt already, I find at £5 jackpot it is really boring. either £3-5 for a board 2 max back. Or £8 for a board with jackpot or vamp it up back. I am sure at these settings it only has these two possible outcome scenorios lol

i have seenit once when i was installing it in a pub.

i put £1 in to test the machine and the fecker gave me the feature entry and managed to get nudges for the jackpot.

and it definatly repeated.

this was set at 25p £25 quid and at 82%.

It's set at 25p play, £25 jackpot at 72%. I took £48 out of it for £12 last night. One jackpot and a few other bits and pieces.

at 72% it will be pants to play. i would certainly up this to the upper 80`s or lower 90`s to enhance you gameplay - giving you either biggers streaks or more frequent wins.

i have no doubt that if you ignored the streaks and just went for the jp+repeat, it would eventually.

I normally recommend :

For a pub style game, 74>78%
For an arcade style game, 80%>86%

If you want something that plays unrealisticly well, then go above those, but be warned it can cause some pretty odd stuff to happen, and if it's been set to 72% and you shift it to something in the 80s or 90s you'll probably want to clear the RAM as it will empty itself very easily.

To determine how easy it will be to change percentage, open the top door (the one with the glass) of the machine, and look for the MPU5 board, it'll probably be mounted on the back of the machine, behind the reel mount.

You are looking for the Programme Card, it should have a red test switch on it, and above or below that, two 'plugs'.

If both plugs look like they have a bank of 4 or 8 switches on them, then you have variable jackpot/stake and percentage keys (which may well come in useful), if either of the plugs has a moulded plastic top and no switches, it should read on the plastic facing you what it is set to - i.e 72% or '£25 Cash 25p Play'.

If on the other hand there isn't a moulded plug or one with switches, instead you have a piece of wire bent to fit into two of the holes, thats a very cheap way of making a stake / prize selection

Yes thats a percenatge key..... do you know if he's sending you one with a set % on it or a variable one? They are very simple to use so you'l have no problem...

Even if he doesnt end up sending it to you you can get them off ebay very cheap (£1-3).
Or Bazpeeb may be able to get hold of one for you.

Marvelous. It would be a shame to have to spend £1-3 but not the end of the world. I do like keeping it 'pub realistic' though.
