Yo guys...
I'm doing GCSEs now and in ICT we have to produce a website on whatever we want, but it must have certain aspects and content to get the grades!
I was just wonderiing if you could provide a couple pictures for me to help...Not much really, all I ask is for:
A picture of an MPU5/Scorpion 4 board
Permission to copy an emulation layout picture because there will be a small emulation section explaining how it's done:)
Any of these I will be greatful for because it should help me get the good marks I need and it should be allowed for people to help;)
Cheers,
CB

This is a site for EMULATION purposes of older machines. Not playing strategies.
If you are more interested in playing modern machines,
visit Jackpottyforums
(DOND is around now on this site..... How long was this sig out of date...!)

Hell yeah!
The adjudicator will probably be sick of 'and heres my cat, heres my dog, heres my house, i like football' type stuff, showing a genuine interest in something 'out of the ordinary' will pay dividends

IF he (the adjudicator) gets to see it which I doubt it very much why not just change the subject of it to white cider and which Spar is best to hangout at.

I second that man, Ok so we all like to see work related to anything fruity on here- but remember, we have to tread a careful line in the volitile world of FE- we aint all over 18 here.
I would say a better subject matter for your site would be to go into the world of the fruit machine yes, but from a gambling and addiction point of view- there you would get more of a mark on your thinking and deduction, as you could use all the resources you collect to make a debatable and thought provoking essay.

Exactly my point if a kid showed me that as a project I would send him away to do it again on another subject why not consider MAME as the example its still emulation based?

Hang on, the kid is making a website, not writing an essay.
As far as making a website goes, unless it is constrained to a particular subject in the assessment specification, you can basically make it on any topic you want (as long as it isn't racist, sexist. e.t.c.).
This is GCSE, not AS > A2 level - those above who are saying be careful of content regarding 'fruit machine emulation', I don't get why you are talking about 'essays' e.t.c.

Exactly a fruit machine addicted child is making a web site for a school project glorifying them can you not see the wrong in that if not you are morally retarded?

Heres an example :-

... As far as the law is concerned, £5 machines (which are what CB should be playing) are OK as far as kids are concerned.
Note that GCSE is not marked on 'oh no, thats morally not sound', they are marked on a matrix, where 'if A is included, +1', and the sum of the marks will eventually determine a grade. I'd assume someone wanting to work in teaching such as yourself would get that Alth?
Mind you, you are hardly the type to accusing others of being immoral, and the thought of you actually persuing a career in teaching is shocking in itself.
IMHO if you want to do well, you have to pick something you enjoy. You could have an A* student with an interest in rainforests and global warming, but if you tell him to write a biography of David Beckham he'll probably shit on the paper and throw it at you. Same applies here. He is interested in them, and if that interest in them encourages him to try his utmost then let him do it. If he is marked down because of content (which unless a topic is stipulated in the 'subject specification' as I mentioned above) he will have a case to appeal.

You forget tho that its a GCSE P R O J E C T
A project cant just be a case of handing the tutor the end result. Youve got to have coursework to go with it, an explanation of why you did the site, what resource you have, etc. I was explaining to the lad that he should look at both sides of the story as far as fruity goes as part of his coursework for this so he has a clear understanding of what he wants to do and why. Its not the end result that gets the marks mate, its the graft you put in and proof of the graft you put in. Six months ago I came on and said I RESTORED BIGSHOT! now some people wouldnt believe that. but they do believe it because I backed it up with all the documentation and examples and pictures of what Id done. see what I mean?

So you dont have your social face and work face?
I swear, I curse, everyone does mate- but do you really think that I DO THE same in the company of children?
cmon, everyones got common sense that we talk as we see appropriate depending on the company that surrounds us?

Right 2 things here bud
1) I am a name on the internet to you I will never meet you and I have no intention of meeting you.
2) The internet is just a peice of text on the screen you have no idea of my abilities whether it be teaching, brain surgery or telling some 14 year old little boy its a bad idea to write about an addiction that could leave him a very unhappy adult........

OK, been having a think about this one seriously.
The subject matter for the project is fair enough- whar concerns me is youll need to be very careful the road you go down when you do the project. Reading through all the posts in the cold light of day, your site, as far as I can see is going to be soley about emulation- get on to msn crazybar when you see this and Ill give you some stuff.
