Hello,

I have a Gimme Gimme Gimme machine. I come across a couple of problems today.

The machine takes a long time to initialise when turnt on /cash door is opened. Checked the alarm log (as the alarm went off aswell the first time) and it says these errors:

Lcd Meter Comms Fail

Lcd Met Changed - Fingerprint Failed To Match

Anyone know what they mean and how I can fix them?

Thanks

you got a faulty lcd meter(little black box up beside the coin mech attached to the top glass).

i can get you a replacement second hand one which will be £15 as we still use them and would be buying a brand new one to replace it.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

Is that the lcd display near where you put the coins in?

Is that also why it's saying initialising for longer then it used to?

Is the only way to fix it buying another one? Does this need to be there, or can this be disconnected without it affecting anything else on the machine?

Also on the sliding bar (the sliding bar lock on the top door) one of the bolts snapped off can this be replaced in anyway or will I need a new bar?

The machine also makes a buzzing noise, I have been told this is the power supply, is this correct?

Thanks

yes you do need this lcd meter.

and yes it can only be fixed with a replacement as its a sealed unit.

the buzzing noise,is this just the light buzzing that comes through the speaker when most lights are illuminated???if so then thats normal with barcrest mpu5.

regarding the sheared bolt, its hard to say anything about this without actually seeing it.

There are a couple of pics of the sliding lock.

I may purchase one of them lcd meters from you in the next few days, can it still be used in the mean time? Is that why it takes a long time to initialise?

Thanks

The lcd meter (with circle round) Posted Image seems to work ok, I put a few £1 coins in and it counts up. Any other ideas why the machine takes a long time to initialise?

Yes the buzzing noise comes out the speaker, is biker the spiker mpu5? As this machine doesn't do this as much.

As baz says, the speaker buzz is definetly not an issue, its electrical interference caused by the lamps switching on and off- every machine out there has this, some more than others its not normally noticeable in a pub/arcade/club because of all the other noises is the place, but you do notice it with the machine at home or in a queit cafe. Theres not much you can do about this noise either, so dont worry about it!

thats probably the reason why its taking longer topower up as every machine check this meter on initialisation.

if it eventually powers up and works ok then i wouldn'tworry about it but it will completly pack up at some point.

Yes, it powers up and works ok in the end. At some point it will pack up worries me though, do you mean the whole machine will pack up?

Can the sliding bar be fixed?

Thanks

eventually at will try to power up but will sound an alarm for a lcd meter alarm which will not sort itself until a new meter is fitted.

regarding the door slide,if the machine still locks i wouldn't worry about it because if you wanted a new one it will cost a fair wad!!!.

The lcd meter still works though, can this be broke if it works?

How much will it cost for a new sliding bar lock? Can you get hold of one of these for me?

It should only count up when you insert coins in Refill Mode. If you are just putting coins in to play the machine, without the refill key in, that meter should NOT count the coins.

yes it does ben as its an lcd meter which records all meter readings and not just the refill.

nathan
if the errors that have coming up are regarding the lcd meter then that is what will be causing the machine to be slow at initialising.

i will check to see if i can get a replacement sliding door lock for you.

The meter up by the coin mech?

I've never noticed that one counting up on normal credit entry :S

there might be some confusion ben:)

when you open the door and read the meters, when it shows cash in on the alpha display its also showing it on the display on the meter up by the coin mech(only if its a lcd meter and not a mechanical meter)

if the door is closed then it always show's the refill meter.

the lcd meter holds all the meter reading info not the mpu.
this is why you can reset all meter readings by just changing the lcd meter and not do anything to the mpu causing the machine to reset its ram.

How easy would it be for me to fit a new lcd meter?

Thanks for seeing if you can get a replacement sliding door lock, if you can't get one if Ben or anyone else can get one I would be interested.
