well thought id pop this up anyway, see if people would like to get involved. You may already be in a team but it cant hurt to try and get some new people involved

Folding@home is a way to give to charity without giving money out of your own pocket

The program runs in the background and takes advantage of idle time of your CPU, so when its not doing anything the program takes a bit of it to work out some of its calculations to help in finding cures to various different diseases such as cancer and Altzheimers

Download the program here:

http://folding.stanf...u/download.html

then once your set up simply join the team

team number is 52550

So come and join in, do something useful with that hunk o crap you play your fruit machines one :)

for thsoe who have started and joined the team, you can check the team stats by right clicking on the icon in the sys tray. Dont worry if your not on the team board yet, you need to finish one of the WU first and then you'll appear :)

to be fair theres quite a few forums that have teams now, i have spotted it on FF before but its been on some others that i visit too. Its a simple little thing and doesnt effect your system. Always nice to help out in someway :)

they all vary in size but the bigger WU will give more points.

As i said before it can take days for these things to complete but you'll be on that leaderboard eventually :)

Not saying that this is a result of folding@home (though it may well be) as this is One of their projects.

Just shows though what can be acheived....
