My local recently got this machine in, and from what I could gather from the bar staff it doesn't require a permit, or any form of VAT to be taken from it's profits. Before i took a look at it closely i was just expecting a basic purely random machine rather than something that plays between 80% and 94% odds depending on the stakes.

Would someone please care to tell me a little more about these machines if they know anything?

what can i say. though i thought reflex made some good reel based random machines, reel based are now 99.99% obselete.

you put your money in, you get a random spin, if you win you get a prize ticket. no holds, no nudges and cannot be forced. if you have to play it, put a few quid in and then walk away.

pretty sure this machine aint random.
its like those lottery machines you get in members clubs that gives you a ticket for a £1 and when you open the tabs it will have a winning ticket or losing ticket.

this machine the same but instead of giving you a ticket to open it spins the reels and gives you a win or nothing.you cant gamble but i beleive you can use your winning to play another shot and when you want to collect your money it prints out a ticket to take to the bar.

Just got one in the local snooker club.. Likes spinning in its wins so it does.. but its hard to gain profit.. Best playing it on £1 a play, or 50p if thats to much.. the stakes below that are not even worth bothering with.. Occasionally it can give you a reel step to a win, happens fairly frequent.. Its been in the pub at mines for about a week now.. someone fired in £20 and played it on £1 a play and £200 spun in.. so no bad there..
The higher the stake the better the %

I stuck a few quid in it, reminded me of an OXO machine without holds or nudges to be honest, and it rolled in £20 so i left it alone not wanting to push my luck. (I was playing on 20p a go)

To be honest the fact it pays into your playing credits is rather evil in a pub or club, as if you're drunk imagine rolling in the 2k and not realising you could push collect at any time...

next time your near a machine like that just se if there is a little black box on a wire coming from the back of it, if so that'll be the RNG and therefore random!

pretty sure they are not random because then they would fall into the section 16 bracket which cannot be sited in members clubs apart from bingo halls.

then if there not random, they can be manipulated, and with a £2000 pot i can imigine there gonna be charging loads for the cheats in these!

To be honest with the lack of Nudges and Holds, along with the varying percentages it's probably not going to be the easiest thing to force, as there is no denying wins or features to mess up the percentages. So you can only take what it wants to give.
