I have a Psycho Cash Beast fruit machine and recently the mech has become a bit fussy about the coins it's accepting.

A while ago it seemed to only be fussy with "other" coins (wasn't too fussed about that), but now it's refusing to take £1 coins regularly.

Usually the coins just drop through, but every now and again the coins get stuck and I have to give the reject a shove.

I do keep the machine in a garage, so it does get bit cold, but it is dry.

I think it's a Mars coin mech. What the best course of action?

Cheers,
Alex

give the coin mech a good clean check there's no crap or gunge on the runner ect, also check n make sure the connectors are firmly placed on the connectors and if u still have trouble then the mech will need reprogramming as this cures the problem of not accepting all coins.

Would I need to completely pull the thing apart to do that? Or is it something I can safely do by poking ear buds etc in the various orifices?

you do not need to remove the mech from the machine.

push the reject with the door open and you will see a part of the coin mech move.

you need to clean behaind this as this is wher the coins are accepted.
