I have a recent machine, Hurricaine by GLOBAL, it has a normal coin mech and accepts all coins 10p, 20p, 5p, £1, £2 but wont accept 50p !!! Is that a problem with the mech or a software issue that I can change ???
Any ideas would be great !

the mech may not be validated to accept the new 50p or it has been made to inhibit the 50p for fraud prevention.
check that the 50p inhibit wire hasnt been disconnected
hope that helps

There is a boar you can get to plug into the mech which allows the new £2 and £50p to work, but i cannot for the life of me remember what it is called (while since i worked at leisurelink)
It is green! any clue would be appreciated!!

it will be your coin mech that has a fault.
its probably a mars cashflow 126.
you will need it reprogrammed but to be honest a company will charge the same amount to reprogramme a mech as it is to buy a second hand one.

baz its not really a fault its more like a inhibit issue or validation issue.
i would say its best to get a secondhand mech from ebay as this is the best place to get 1
or find a local company that can re-validate it cheaply.

you can also get a board to enable coin validation on the older mechs, it allows the new 50p and £2 coin

yeah mark i agree but instead of getting the fault repaired your just as well getting a second coin mech because companies like e-service charge about 45 quid for reprogramming a coin mech.

Thanks for the help guys, I will compare it to my other global machien (that takes 50p) and see what happens. What was that about fraud prevention ??? Did there used to be dodgy 50p's ??
