I take it this event is open to the public as well as fruit machine manufacturers ? I think it would be quite a good thing to go to.
Although is it not in London..? thats miles away from me Could always get the train down though.

I wanna go too. Can I register, as a totally random member of the public, via the website - even if I have no company name to enter?
Or doesn't it work like that...

Apparently it's going to be half the size of previous years - lots of companies have pulled out/gone skint.
Last year I was there for three days and got bored shitless. Might go for just the one day this time round - I can't see there being a lot there.

Watch out! There's a SIG thief about...

I wonder what do you actually do at an ATEI festival? I know it shows companies new machines, but can you only look around, or can you play em and buy em too?
When I'm older I'll go there myself.

I wouldn't call it a festival.
Basically it's a place for all of the UKs Amusement industry types to show off their amazing new products, and they probably be taking orders from the trade as well.
Because it covers all aspects of 'Amusements', there won't just be fruit machines. There will also be crane suppliers / manufacturers, FOBT stuff (for bookies and suchlike), coin and note mech suppliers, pool table suppliers, redemption game (i.e Token / Ticket prize machines) suppliers... and quite a few more. Each manufacturer will have their own area, so there will be Barcrest area, Bell Fruit area, e.t.c.
You should be able to play basically anything thats on display, although they will be on Free Play so you can't actually 'win' on them, but some stands may well run competitions
There should also be freebies

and there will also be new fairground rides there or part off lol as u wouldnt b able to erect a full size white knuckle ride in there.
all the machines are on free play but dont expect them to pay cash out
its a fun day out for all traders n gamblers alike

I can't remember if theres an age limit or not - one one hand theres obviously '18+ material', albeit gambling / £25 and £35 machines, on the other hand I'm sure they've allowed people over about 12 in with an adult in the past.

Can anyone please expand on the getting-in part ...
1. Do you HAVE to register?
2. Do you HAVE to enter a company name in the registration form?
3. Can you turn up on the day as a member of the public?

reply
1 yes you do have to register
2 yes u do have to enter a company name but a made up company name will gain entry i.e nixxy amuesments or summut
3 yes u can turn up on the day but again u need to register on entry. and you will not b able to gain entry on the first day of the show as that is strictly trade only.
