Celebrating the new kackpot! Jackpot even, but it's crap... ;)

Got my badge and exhibition map today, so assume most of those going from elsewhere got theirs too?

:)

Note, from the literature that comes with the badge :

'Noone under 18 to be admitted to the co-located ICE / ICEi shows. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times in ATEI.'

Wonder where they draw the line, I'd hope people didn't take brats in pushchairs with them (no offense to those with younger kids but this isn't the best event to take young kids to).

Whats the ICEI and ICE shows? Never heard of them before...
So Ben...Off to Barcrest first, then perhaps a stroll to Bellfruit, followed by Vivid, possibly Red on the way?

OK Ben, while you're there, heres a puzzle.

Spot the new concepts!
Try and spot new concepts on the FM field.

How you Did:
1: Good,
2: Excellent
3: Couldnt be better
4: Yeah, quit while you're ahead...

Barcrest Group have their own area, which will contain the Barcrest, Red, Vivid, Maygay, Extreme - and who knows, maybe some Impulse machines?

I'll be sticking to Coin-op games - Fruit Machines (inc Sec16s), Ticket / Token / Prize
machines (Harry Levy and suchlike), Cranes, Arcade machines, and having a few beers along the way.

From the sound of it, this is going to be almost a themed '£35 hurrah' ATEI. The industry seems to think that £35/50p will make people play machines more. I'd love to say they were wrong but I can see a lot more younger people being enticed by the higher prizes on offer. Personally I'd rather eat my own curried armpit hair than play one.

Since you are going to view the Harry Levy stand watch out for the Crazy frog whack a mole type of game, two of which are going there, Highly annoying lol, I should know i built up two for the show today.

Since i now work for the amusement industry its got me interested in Atei.

Maybe 2008 ;)

Can't believe you work for Harry Levy... git :p

I may as well go now, I have a 'free drink' voucher :p

Just noticed something totally daft about the age restrictions :

Quoting the back of my pass :
-----------------------
NO UNDER 18'S WILL BE PERMITTED ENTRY INTO ATEI.

and just below that :

CHILDREN UNDER 16 MUST BE ACOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES.
-----------------------

Anyone else confused about their policy on under 18s now?!

Will be going to the show for a day on Wednesday 24th.

Going to mainly look at the video games, redemption machines and Cranes. Will probably only briefly look at the fruit machines.

If anyone would like to meet up for a beer, maybe when the show has finished at 6pm on the 24th let me know via PM.

ICE and ICEi are the International Casino Exhibition, both of these showcase the lastest casino equiptment and may even feature some new equiptment for the new licence including new jackpot machines. Keep your eyes peeled!!!

Previous products have included roulette and blackjack tables and slot machines.

Oh and here is something for every visitor.

Visit ACE, Astra, Bellfruit, Electrocoin, Games Media, Gamesoft and MDM and bring your 'Thrive on £35' passport and get it stamped at those seven stands for your chance to win a brand new £35 AWP worth over £2000 (and you pick the machine)!!!

For more info PM me. You will need a 'thrive on £35' passport.

Surely that offer is only open to actual trade though?

I can't see them supplying a fully working brand new £35/50p machine to anybody, far too easy to operate it illegally.

Still, got my passport here :p

If I win I am so going to choose new Deal Or No Deal 'Whats in your Box?' machine. Oh... wait... actually, probably one of the Electrocoin machines. They hold their value like nothing else, don't they? Plus I wouldn't mind one at home. The sound effects might scare the neighbours though.

Didn't go in the end, got a bit stressed out what with my job gone so spent the day (my day off is always a Tuesday) handing out CVs around town. Plus there was some other stuff too. Just didn't seem right spending a day down in London at ATEI when there was serious stuff to be done :(

Oooh, what fun :p

I'll definately go next year unless some other crap comes up.

So how did the show go then?

Bencrest, got any pics?

I heard Barcrest stand was pretty dire.Nothing new to show.

Sounds like things are drying up big time on the hi tec front.

there was nothing new, all rubbish, just the same old S16s in newer cabinets. and all you could hear everywhere was the bloody phones ringing on the DOND machines.

some of the birds were alright, but TBH most of them were nothing special.

God , i hope that there is more to look forward to in the future, emulation wise, than s16's.

That would surely mean the next few years are rather critical regarding what the manu's produce.

I blame Maygay.
