This doesn't have anything to do with Jimmy's post on FF, even though I did read it...It just goes to show how fed up we are of this sort of thing...

OK then, I read in the paper about the 6 attempted bombers on the Tube yesterday...This is serious isn't it not?

Well, on the news today, we're reading on top that Big Brother is under Racism claims!!!
So forst we are talking about a scenario that could have easily killed 100 people and we are dealing with Muslim extremists trying to cause terror and spread a sort of message.
On the other hand we are talking about a TV show with failing viewing numbers, where we have dumped some "celebs" in a house where someone has called another a paki, probably didnt mean it, in the heat of an argument.

Can the Media PLEASE get a grip on REALITY!!!(No, not reality TV)

Hust had to get this out of my system.
Anyone got views on this?

The Carphone Warehouse has suspended its sponsorship from the Celebrity Big Brother show after alleged racist comments sparked thousands of complaints. The company ordered Channel 4 to remove its name and branding from the programme with immediate effect.
The move came after last night's episode saw an escalation of alleged racist bullying directed at Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.
Charles Dunstone, The Carphone Warehouse CEO, said: "Our concern has rapidly mounted about the broadcast

behaviour of individuals within the Big Brother house.

"We are totally against all forms of racism and bullying and indeed this behaviour is entirely at odds with the brand values of The Carphone Warehouse.
"As a result we feel that as long as this continues we are unable to associate our brand with the programme.
"We had already made it clear to Channel 4 that were this to continue, we would have to consider our position.
"Nothing we saw last night gave us any comfort. Accordingly, we have instructed Channel 4 to remove our sponsorship name and branding with immediate effect." Up to 27,000 viewers agree with Shetty - they have complained to TV regulator Ofcom about fellow housemate Jade Goody's behaviour towards the Indian actress.
Some have defended Goody, saying she is not racist, just ignorant.
However, The Perfume Shop has also decided to withdraw sales of her perfume from its shelves following the controversy.

its shocking that the biggest headline today is about big brother, absolutely disgusting.

The even sadder fact is that more of the population is probably interested in that than all the other things happening at the moment!


Personally I need to have a word with my boss later, if the weather is even slightly like to day he can feck orf if he think i am out working. 6 dead in my area from todays incidents, i aint taking the risk!

it's a bloody disgrace and like you i am fed up hearing about this pish todays top story on the news and front page news ffs... and no doubt it will be the same tomorrow,terrorist threats + people dying in the storms today and all we hear about is this trash, gimme a break...

Did you know that the people behind GTA actually PAID Max Clifford to generate as much reaction in the press as possible prior to the games release to get interest, knowing that in those circumstances the interest would translate into games sales?

Same applies here. Unfortunately, telling people about tiles falling off rooves generates no money for papers. However, this kind of story will - and it'll also generate massive ratings for the show.

I was glad to turn on the news at 6 and get a good report on the Weather we are having on BBC, so that was a plus...Still, Big Brother came before the Terrorists.
You'd think that the News would report on bad things so to give warnings about what it'll be like out there, not what's going on that you have nothing to do with(except call e premium rate line to say someones name)

Still, on the small plus of the media, at least Jade Goody's been dropped in it. Should show wat these celebs really are and not to view em again

You are dead right CB, these f***ers in the press are a joke. Ill-educated c***s who write what they THINK the public wants to read, whether it's true or not. They blow a story out of all proportion and push it down our throats for days. The shitty Sun is one of the worst for it IMHO but they have all gone to pot over this "celebrity" BB rubbish. I'm not for one moment condoning racism, but who the f*** gives a toss what a horse-faced thick shithouse like Jade thinks of an Indian Film Star?? Not me, that's for f*****g sure!!

Anyway - rant over. On a good point my wife gave birth to Matthew today and he weighed in at 8lbs 10oz.

It is of great interest to me and my family, so you won't read about it in the papers tomorrow

Have to agree with ya there CB..watched Sky News at 11pm bearing in mind tragically 11 people lost thier lives today in the storms that hit much of the UK..What was the headline ?? All this pish about Big Brother.
