Now that this site is allowing discussion and release threads regarding the MFME9.4 emulator, I may as well post a shot of this machine I've been working on.
It looks a lot better in full size, trust me

Looks really good Ben.And its the better £15 version too.
Nice to see Fruit emu allowing w.i.p's ect here too.
So i take it this site is taking the same stance as Fruit Forums then ? Allowing discussion release treads but not hosting layouts/roms ect ??
Yay, more to gab about now !

Yeah, it's £15 and running at Barcrests recommended settings (£15 / 30p / 80%). Still playing like a total git, but I'm going to release it 'well played'. At the moment it's only had about £200 through and is running at 50.2%, but by the time it's playtested and released, I'd aim for it to have had between £500 and £1000 through it.

80% is Barcrest what Barcrest reccommend do they ??
Wish they would tell leisure link that !

Glad to see that Fruit-Emu has decided to allow discussion and release threads on the 9.4 emulator and layout
It's coming upto 3 months now since the "leak" of the emulator and nothing has happened with the major companies such as Barcrest objecting to it - so we might as well move with the times.
The emulator and layouts are out there - there's no disputing that - so to me it seemed a waste of time denying it all. It's good that Fruit-Emu has come round.
Back to topic - and thanks for the WIP Ben - a clone of the Addams Family and I like that MPU5 machine, so looking forward to playing it mate - it looks well cool (sorry, but that last bit of my sentence seems weird coming from a 41-year old!).

aye for those that haven't noticed there is a statement up on the front page of Fruit-emu with regards to the emulator.
It was announced just over a week ago that discussion and such would be allowed but none of the resources would physically be hosted here.
so post away people...promise to keep me finger away from the move/delete thread button.....even though it is damn tempting

It's close to Temple of Treasure, but theres some glaring differences.
Rather than the 'Fruit Matrix' to achieve nudges, you have a number trail matrix, with Bonus positions (unlike TOT where you had to get Horseshoes).
Different Bar Codes are available. Theres no 'Follow Me' on Party Animal, and I'm sure there was on TOT.
Other than those obvious bits it's pretty similar. I've got a flyer here for Temple of Treasure, and was considering doing it, but I'd rather do a layout for which no DX currently exists.

This release was (and still is) a bit delayed by a combination of things that have gone on in my life in the past month or so. As it stands :
The 1280 WDX is about 80% complete, however I may or may not release it as my new PCs don't support 1024 vertical pixels, they support 1280x800 and 1440x900. Basically work on the original 1280x1024 release currently on hold.
I am working on a version that will display fine on 1024x768, and anything upwards of that. On 1024 the buttons at the bottom of the cabinet will not be visible. On screens with 800 pixels vertical resolution the buttons WILL be visible. On 900+ vertical pixels (such as my 1440x900 display) the area below the buttons, including the nosepod and payout tray will be visible.
Seemed a bit daft me working on a layout for a resolution that wouldn't fit in on any of my new PCs.
I'll update again as necessary. I'd hope to have this released well before the end of this month, and I hope it won't turn into a 'Guns N Roses - Chinese Democracy' type affair, where it's always 'due out' and 10 or so years later it's still 'due out' month after month
For the most recent WIP of this, check this pic. I've done a little more work on this since I made this pic but it's on my desktop and I'm currently on the laptop.
You can see the completed lamps from the 1280 version, and the classic lamps, at the right hand side. Basically I'm redoing all of the lamps from scratch in Photoshop, and once done, they should look like the couple of feature lamps lit in the middle of the layout art at the left hand side.
This is one of the few layouts that, even though it's getting quite a bit smaller in size (note the difference in size between the lamps from my original DX at the right, and the new shrunk DX at the left), ALL the text remains legible. If it hadn't have remained legible, I wouldn't have resized it.

Apologies for letting it go about 4 weeks without an update!

Looks good mate, I had this machine (£25 version though), and it was quite good - as similar to the thing/ adams family/ tot as you can get (but closest to adams family).. It was easy to get it to roll though, you simply didn't accept any wins for about £100 and then it would give you a roll for £60
Look forward to this though
