Hi All

I had to use a system restore tonight to fix a non repro related issue, unfortunaely this has deleted all of the user accounts and the backup did not work so i am afrade all users are going to have to recreate your accounts again, please accept my appologys for this cock up.

The repro works on a broadband line wireless router and a company called no-ip.org the software running the server is easy file sharing web server, I have the no-ip end set up with the addess of the broadband connetion, this forwards requests for the http:reposerv.no-ip.org to the local router which then sends the page back to you, no-ip.org look after the DNS stuff for me.

With respect to you all, Cliff aint getting paid for running his repo its done out of the goodness of his heart and frankly he can run his site as he sees fit.

completely agreed, fact is cliff is running this server from his home, all off his own back. He has kindly hosted plenty of roms, emulators, the works at this place. He didnt have to do it but he decided he would.

Then he basically got F**ked about by some people, passwords being changed, leechers on 24/7 etc. Now personally that would probably have been enough for me to sack the whole thing off and let everyone find their own way.

However cliff has persevered, but in order to carry on he has had to make changes. Changes that will aid him to keep it all under control.

Now most of you will be able to sign up for a ISP email account with your current provider, just give them a quick email from your normal account and im sure they will tell you how. Once you have it you can sign up.

In the meantime, if you have a gripe with the way its run, if your not happy with certain things not being allowed then i shall put it in plain and simple words for you

now this isnt just aimed at the odd post, i know theres not necessarily anything malicious posted here, just some things are better left un said. But the general feeling of this goes out to those across the boards and the scene who have been active in the want want want frame of mind.

You may not agree with the way things are being done, people may be unhappy with the stances various boards have taken with how to deal with the latest emulator. But believe me, all that has been done from each sides admin has been in their point of view for the good of the community. Its nothing draconian, its not about them being a bastard, its all about ensuring the continuation of this community as a whole.

I am in total agreement with you jimmy I only go on the repro site every few days just to see what the latest offerings are and if its a game i like or know then i will download it.

Its the same here I have been a member here for about 3 or 4 years and only download games i like and beat a few penquins in the arcade. Occasionally i leave a post and thats it.

Unfortuntly theres some people who are just out to make a profit from both forums by downloading everything in sight and then selling them on ebay.

That is not what these sites are for loads of hard work go into the making of these games and i for one get loads of fun playing them.
