I have recently learned to use VB6 and have done a few fruity sims etc.

Although there not fantastic IMO there good enough and i have been asked to do a MEGASLOT sec16 sim.

Theres a few things i need to ask

1) what would astra's stand be on this ?

If it was a non profit SIM would they really object ?

2) where would i get the sounds / gfx from to make it look good.

3) would anyone actually want me to do one ?

And it would get done as i hate leaving things unfinished !

As i would do it if enough people wanted one, As im currently unemployed i have some spare time to do it

All comments welcome

As for emulating ANY S16 as it stands right now I presume Astra will basically rip you a new hole..... Thought not a rule set in stone as such in MFME, we tend not to touch anything younger than 3 years old for reason being as it's a "Gentleman's Agreement" we seam to have with the manus so they will not come after us.

well i know someone is working on Emu slotto but you have mis read me ?

I clearly said Simulation not emulation of MEGASLOT these IMO are very different issues !

Also as it would be a SIMULATION and as yet i dont have any "reel" data i would have to do the odds symbols per reel myself etc so wouldnt actually be totally the same.

Sounds good fruity - I will look forward to this.. Not sure I can get hold of any graphics for you though.. I ain't going in the only arcade where I know this is, and I am a bit stuck on time myself.. Wish I had time to work on a simulator.. Keep us up to date on this mate :)

Plus they won't sue you for a simulator you are right.. God otherwise god would sue the creators of sum city ;)

I doubt very much if anyone would be bothered if a emu for the random machines became available. After all you cant learn them inside out as they are 100% random.

Not that i am remotely interested in playing £500 random machines on my pc of course.

They are available to all sky customers via the red button anyway so whats the difference.

Elvis and Casino are anyway, and what a waste of half an hour that was.

well some of us, about 40 percent use cable services so would not have seen them. plus some people like me as well as liking retro machines also like the newer random machines, i like them purely for that fact. you cant predict them so gameplay doesnt get boring.

Horses for courses.

On the same token, i still dont understand why you or anybody would want to play this.Either in real life or simulation/emulation.

Have you actually played one in an arcade? If you have surely you dont think its " fun " compaired to what we have emulated already ???

i do and even play them online. makes a change from all these remakes we get now iin hi techs in arcades. and even though they lack game play i like the fact they are random and the high jackpots. only last week in southport i won 500 from an elvis on the bonus spin 3 records after 10 pounds in. then won another 100 from red gamings devil machine...

so yes as you say horses for courses. and i was around playing all these emualted machines in the wild when they first came out. even remember the big jpm yellow and red button machines in wooden fake cabs..lol

they are different which is what i like but coming from a background of working over in the usa and on cruise ships i probably seen these before most any how.

i have to agree with u i also like playing the £500 ones as apposed to the others around. maybe its because ive had more lucky on them then the £25/£35 jackpot ones who knows. the main ones i like are rainbow riches,Elvis,Cashino.

And being a cable subscriber i also dont get them on interactive :( so a emu is the only way i will see them

I think there is a definite 'apples vs oranges' scenario here. People play AWPs (or used to!) for the amusement factor as much as the money factor. FME can work with this because there is (or was) an amusement basis. S16s, however, are purely about winning the big money, and nothing more. I'll cite an example in central London of 28 grand VTP on a single machine in a single week. On that basis, emulating/simulating a S16 is pointless, as no real money is involved.

Feel free to disagree, but that's how I see it.

Yes there's no entertainment in these games, just the pure adrenalin and suspense of risking a lot of money - in many cases money that you don't really want to lose. If you're not playing for real money, all of this is lost and you are left with a boring-as-f*** game.
