hi fme,
ive got a red gaming machine and the actual hopper levels are incorrect, its got about £70 in the hopper and it thinks its full £125... how the hell do you reset a hopper and get it to spit them all back out? it wont let me dump the hopper by the normal sequence?
HELP LOL
all the best, spin.

just so you know i managed to work it out...
basically undo front door of cab then undo cashbox, put in refill key turn to right, wait then , press the switch behind the coin door and hold for 3 secs, press start, and i let it empty what was in the hopper (£68) then i repeated the process again and the machine knew the hopper was empty so then i was able to fill it to the top.

You noticing some coins are going in the cashbox even though the hopper is not full ?
Red gaming trademark.
Sometimes 5 coins go down, sometimes just one, then it allows then to gather in the hopper again.
Never quite did work out why this was as surely the hopper will eventually run dry doing this ?
Baz,Impact- any discrepancies in Reds ?

i also notice its dickey fitz too, pounds its fussy over when trying to play the odd 1 or 2 and then accepts them again, but when refilling it hates pounds all together youll get like you say 5 drop but i notice it does this in the multiple of 5's usually say when hopper reads 61 its ok but goto 60 and after that it will throw 4-5 back until u hit start start! i also also oncce managed to get it in freeplay when it shouldnt of (incorrect doors open/techniques!)
hates 50p's totally in a bad mood!
but overall this machine is a happy medium play, however i will never want to go throught the stress of another one after its been left in the hallway to deal with. F.C.U.K to it!

I have a Red Gaming machine at home too and it does this.
Has it properly munched yet forcing for the top ?
I put over £200 into mine when it was sitting ON its target percentage of 78 to get the top feature. It eventually went nuts and paid out almost £200 back.
Typical Red, sucks for AGES , then streaks its head off to the tune of an empty hopper.
Its Jewel Strike in case your wondering.
P.s, i meant in my original thread that the coins go to the CASHBOX, not the payout tray when its still not got a full hopper.Nothing to do with rejecting coins.

red gaming machines always do the fake backing of £1 coins.
the only manu that does this.

is their a way of getting the machine to pay out £1 and 20p coins since 20p's are nearly the same size as pounds? in the listing when i bought it said that it accepted 10p 20p 50p and £1 and pays out £1
but now ive got it accepts 5,10,20,50,1,£2 and pays out £1
so was just wondering like!?
Spin. also 78% payout is too much isnt it? where the plugin green bits are that say £25 on them are capped off so i presume i have to buy the little circuit board and plug it into this serial port?

Baz im going to question you here. I used to think that they had fake drops but ones that i have played in the past 2 years i have noticed that lets say if its backing. ill take a £4 win and then it will take the £4 back then on the 5th pound will be backing!
Ive noticed it in a few other machines. ie the new maygay like king kerching (jewel something) they have just put that in my local and i quite like it.
If there is an explanation on how these hoppers work then i would like to hear it but thats what i have worked out over the years.
Coming to think of it i played an after shock a few years back and it stopped backing after no win collected. mabe its 2 different technologies or something.
Let me know baz!
Regards
Kal

say the machine pays out a £25 jackpot and the punter stops playing, the machine may start a fake backing routine with the next punter that plays so the new punter will start to think the hopper is full.
within the software the machine still knows exactly how much is in the hopper and will still record the exact amount so its not as if the machine will have more that £125 in the hopper.
the software also detects when a new punter is playing due to the time between plays.
only red gaming machines do this.
and its jewel in the crown that you are playing

Is that not a bit underhand by the manus? To make the machine fake back to encourage someone to play it more seems a bit of a dirty trick if you ask me.
I used to be schitzophenic but were ok now.

Its quite sneaky i'll say that, but clever too. Most punters dont take any notice of things like that anyway or are only spending change from the round. But the regular punters that have been playing Reds for ages know about the fake backing.
Ive noticed they dont tend to do this so much if the machine has got a note acceptor fitted.
