Im goin there in 5 weeks too......can't wait....lol

anyway, i only know the coastal area of the east of that place, there's the obv of Skegness, and also, don't forget to check out the outdoor market by Fantasy Island, personally my favourite market ever, dunno why tho.....
theres also a little town about 30 miles away, or maybe more....not sure, called Mablethorpe, and is like Cleveleys to Blackpool....if u know where that is btw, but in all is a lovely area. for the inland area, I only know louth, which is like a mini York lol

don't forget to ride the 'green' slide in Splash, as its extreme lol

Skegness, Ingoldmells and Chapel-St-Leonards for arcades, chippes and seaside walks.

Then going inland for a bit, there is Hogsthorpe (where my Mam and stepdad live), Mumby, Alford etc. All small villages with pubs, and nice walkways through countryside. Alford is an old historic town, where there is a market and other things to do. Then back to the coast where you come to Sutton-on-Sea and Mablethorpe. As mentioned in a previous post, Sutton is for the older generation. There are no arcades there (local parish rule) but pubs, chippies and seafront area. I personally love Mablethorpe though. The sands are beautiful there. Not much in the way of "live" entertainment but there is a little funfair, pleanty of arcades, pubs, chippies etc., but as I mentioned a lovely beach to go on ( if the weather is nice, of course ;) ).

Enjoy your holiday on the East Coast. I love to visit my Mam and stepdad there! :)

I think the newest machine in that arcade is Pie Factory!!! 5p play too

always eight is the best classic in there, and super nudger, which is the clone, which is on the left side of the arcade

I am off to Butlins Skegness at the end of April. There are some decent arcades along the road to the beach opposite Fantasy Island. There is one arcade along there next to a pub that has some older fruit machines, and there is a large arcade on the opposite side of the road that has loads of older fruit machines and video games in it.

Butlins has some decent fruit machines too. Last year I put £1 in a £25 jackpot Party Time and got over £80 out of it. I discovered a few other fun machines while I was there, they were :-

Hyper Viper - Barcrest
Snakes & Ladders - Bfm
Return of the King - Bfm
Hi Lo Karate -
Adders & Ladders Arena (£5 Jackpot) - Vivd (In Skegness and Ingoldmells)
Return to Haunted House - Empire (one of my personal favourites)

I am not much of a fruity player, only tend to play them on holiday or daytrips Great Yarmouth. I don't smoke or drink so the occasional fruity session is my only vice.

I see some of you must have been tempted with the special deals Butlins have been offering :-)

The last time I went to Butlins was before the massive refurbishment and it was a dump.

Well I will be returning for a revisit mid April lets hope it has improved.

I remember the outdoor market was good and Fantasy Island was ok.

Boy do I remember the slides! I wondered why there were queues for the other slides and non for the slide on the left, thought sod the queue and went on it and gees thought I was going to die literally came off the slide around the bends terrirfying stuff!

Arcades in Skeg were fun too lots of old machines to play!

Watch out for the guy with the Fruit Emu T-Shirt, you just never know who you will bump into!

I am a bit of a Butlins regular, I go every year since 2000 - normally in september. This time I wanted to see what it was like during the early part of the season. I also love Fantasy Island, but it is not the same now you can't get dvd's and music cd's from there, most of the stalls seem to sell the same stuff. The rides are great, I tried one of the big rollercoasters but it wasn't that great for £4. I used to go to Butlins in the late 80's and early 90's, that is when I discovered arcades. I used to spend mose of my time on the large free funfair (before they moved it and downsized it), in the funpool on the water slides and in the arcades.

I love playing the emulator and having a go at doing layouts - layout designing can be quite adictive.

Hi Wozza,

Yep for two of us from Friday to Monday only cost us £79 which is pretty good including all the food - Can't even get in at a holiday inn for that, plus it's an over 18s weekend so there are no bratty children :)

From convo's I've had with my mrs don't think I will be getting off to the fruitys much though :( - lol

She wants time together.......

Oyyy...Cheeky sod haha!
The only place I've been is caravanning in a Haven...The One in Hastings...Oh yes, Coombe Haven that's what it was called. We went on a water slide that tried to dislocate your pelvis...Seriously, almost 90 degree drops, and then to the death trap fairground by the Seafront, I actually thought it was a good time there...Would go again if the parents weren't complaining and nothing really beats Center Parcs at all.

But with Butlins in Bognor right near me Aunt's house I could go there if I wanted.

I recommend my ex who lives in skegness Karina. She is a good ride lol. There use to be a chocolate factory in skeg that you was able to go round but not sure if its still there. It's nice to take a walk on the beach from skegness pie to ingoldmels but is about 4 mile tho.
