Why is my burner having a power calibration error?

Also could be crap media I have the same with my Sony DVD.

I would say bad media as well,my pioneer 111 did 13 discs on the trot all blown out saying power calibration error,got some different discs not blown one out since.

had exactly same prob just bought a new sony writer had same fault bought new disks not a prob :bigeyes04: hopefully

Its not the media thats bad, its the failiure of the firmware to identify it.
Updated firmware will almost always fix problems like this.
My dvd-rw's were very picky with what brand discs I used when I first installed them, so were not even showing up as in the drive at all. One small firware download and they now have zero problems.

Sorted it was some Discs that were faulty ( Poundland DVD Discs )

Bought 2 lots ( Pack of 4 ) 1 pack were Fine .. Next Pack Failed

Chance ya take in £1 shops lol

the laser in your burner is knackered, bin it and get a new one,bet it does only after youve burnt three of four disc too,get yourself a duplicator if you make alot of discs, dont even need a pc for it just a master copy,cuts dvd in 10mins flat, acard are best.
