Hi,
Got got a 1994 JPM Popeye machine, turned it on and it wouldn't work, on closer inspection the PCB has been damp at some point and parts ofit have oxidized!! Any ideas on cleaning or repair or is the board knackered?

That won't work, damage was done a while ago, it's all dry now!

hair dryer thats one,contact cleaner thats two and for the extra prize do not turn it on check all fuses unplug all leads dry cloth remove any damp from pcb wires/looms dry out the coin mech in fact take it part psu hairer and leave in the airing cuboard. Stripe the machine into bits and dry out over the next couple of days make it a week

clean all contacts will a small file and contact clean check the battery as this may of srewed up the mpu try the other opitions

where would i get a relacement pcb? Are they machine specific or a general circuit board with different chips?

wooo system4 i think and if so with or without yamaha sound try the bay ,you have looked at all the other things i.e fuses ect havent u

Yeah, Checked allfuses, power is going to the board,if i wiggle ome of the plugs on the board, things light up!
The board has got yamaha sampled sound on it

any good with a soldering iron if so go over the pcb for dry joint please make sure you have no power going to the system4 mpu or breaks in the power wires/looms use a meter if have one to hand

i'm ok with a soldering iron but i've gota mate who's better!
I'll pop the board into him when i get chance
