hi all,

i just switched my bottle bank machine on and it was working fine, i put 3 50p's in, and then put a £ coin in, and it started shouting hey check it out at me, on the display it says strim then a 30 second clock counting down, when the time is up, it just starts as normal, any idea's why it is doin this, and how i could sort it, :bigeyes06:

any help would be greatly apreciated, :bigeyes04:

Strim is something to do with the coin mech. Strimming is a way of getting free credits from the machine through various method I haven't tried or understand.

Obviously your unlikely to be trying to rob your own machine. You could try cleaning the coin mech and reseating it and its plugs. Or that might be useless. I'm sure someone knowledgable will help out shortly.

check and make sure there isnt a coin blocked in the mech itself or the sorter. build up of coins will block the mech n trigger the alarm.

You'll probably find the STRIM alarm gets progressively worse - if not assume it was just a dodgy connection that wire you found.

I thought I'd fixed my STRIM alarm once when I'd given the mech a very gentle clean, but low and behold it started doing it again the next day I turned it on and put a couple of coins in it.

Normally a VERY GOOD clean will sort it, but you'll need to use a decent anti-static electrical type cleaner and a lint free cloth.

See how you get on though, good luck :)
