‘The industry and Ebay’
Ebay, the world-renowned internet auction site, which boasts a global customer base of 181m, six million new listings per day and annual net revenues of over $4.5bn, offers a mixed bunch of products and services related to the coin- op industry- including how to ‘cheat the system’. Alex Lee investigates

Online Auctions
For the technophobes and internet sceptics among you, eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace is the premier online auction site that allows people to buy and sell almost anything. Coinslot took a look at what was on offer relating to the gaming and gambling industry and uncovered some surprising items. Type in ‘fruit machine’ in the search criteria and over 400 results are displayed.
Machines ranging from 1p (a JPM Indiana Jones machine with £10 jackpot, set on 20p play) to a vintage one-armed bandit game entitled Mad Money Handout on offer for a princely £450 o.n.o. can be bought from the site.
More info is available in that article about selling machines, cheating, dvds, books etc.

I can't see a problem of people buying and selling Fruit Machines on eBay (or any other place for that matter) if they are for personal use.
I purchased a couple the other year from a company that rents them out to pubs... It is only the same kind of thing as buying them from an auction site

its not really the vintage machines there bothered about its the people who buy and sell gaming machines without a licence and or permit.
these are the only people that can buy and sell A.W.P's is people with either a licence or a permit.
+ what the gaming board are trying to do is try and remove all machines from private householders.
but this is really been going on for a couple of years now anyway
i guess there targeting ebay as the way of a main saurce to buy or sell without the 2 documents required
all this about coin mechs been disconnected or payouts been disconnected is total rubbish as we all know sellers dont disconnect them anyway. and even if they did it still doesnt stop the buyer from reconnecting it. also people tend not to just use the machines for there own but for personal financial gain. to which the gaming board doesnt like again without the relevent licence or permit.

Well with any luck if that Barcrest warning James got is real, hopefully Barcrest will go after the DVD sales persons for SELLING their artwork and profitting. If it is real then James has done the right thing, as have fruit-emu. BUT. If bagga-bargain and friends were caught selling their [Barcrest's] artwork then they'd be pretty f**ked. Especially as if they did go to court Barcrest would probably go after them for all the roms and all the artwork because if they're going to the trouble of going to court over it anyway they might as well go the whole hog. And it IS all their stuff anyway, we're just lucky that they turn a blind eye to us because we keep interest in them to a degree.

He had a fake email from 'Barcrest' telling him to stop making sims, 'sender' was a patent lawyer so if you invented a beer can with an alarm clock in it he could help if you were a multinational company he could not sue you for copyright theft.

Not interested in the argument of the email being real or fake, however Patent Lawyers deal with copyrights, patents and trademarks etc so your legal advice is not entirely accurate. lol
