Hi,

I've recently bought a maygay Italian Job fruit machine (an old rear opening cabinet). It's set to 5p play, £5 jackpot..

It's been working great up until this afternoon. I turned it on at the power and had a quick go. Got into the main feature and it paid out £2, then when I came back to the machine about 5mins later all the lights were off and it was making a loud 'clicking' sound every few seconds. I turned it off at the mains and turned it back on again but it still isn't working.

The display on the front doesn't show anything. The clicking noise appears to be coming from the speaker but have also notice that the 'cash in' meter goes up by 1 each time the machine makes the noise. Inside, around the back on the main board (mother board?) there are 9 LED lights. Labelled; L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, L7, +5V, +12V & -12V

When you turn the machine on all the LED lights are ON except the +12V one. When it makes the noise +12V flashes ON for a second but then goes OFF again. Also at the same time L1 & L2 flash/blink.

I’m not sure if any of that is useful but it’s just what I’ve noticed...

I did a quick search on google (how I found this forum) and found some similar info which suggested that the meter needs replacing. I tried unplugging the ‘meters’ lead/connector from the main board just to see but it didn’t help and still made the noise. I found another thread which mentions it could be a PSU problem so I’m not too sure.

The machine is still under warranty from the company I bought it from so will ring them on Monday but just thought I’d check here first to see if anyone knows what the problem could be...
