"WARNING"

You all maybe aware of a place called "StarCity" in birmingham.....

If you ever decide to go there for any reason stay out of the arcades because the machines are on low pay.

Another reason also to avoid this place is because there 5 quid jackpot machines are 25p ago, what a disgrace .

Tell me somewhere the percentage isn't low? also at 25p a go it will pay the JP or streak more often.

Hi

I have been to Star City on visits to Birmingham, There were no arcades in there there were machines in the bowling center, and as with the one near to us 25p/£5 is a normal setting have been since the all cash rules came in the reason for this is so that the kids can still enter the are where the machines are, the machines should play a better game at this setting, obviously the percentage comes into play, but just like any other AWP if the thing has just done a streak you aint gonna win much, I must admint i did not venture on the machines when i was there.

At £5 JP with a 25p stake then they are going back in line with the 1980's stake/ prize ratio when it was 10p / £2

Machines were much more playable back then and paid the jackpots a lot more often than the modern machines where the jackpot is 100 times the stake (more in some cases) :bigeyes09:

Could be a good thing...

While I was running Monty Python at home I bumped up the stake / prize to £5/20p, 25p and 30p. It actually does play a more interesting game IMHO. Having said that, catch it at the wrong time and you'll get frustrated VERY quickly on those settings.

So sickeyes....don't you see it isn't so bad as you suggested now?

One thing I still wonder at though, how do you know the %'age are low as you said?

I popped over to Star City once. Typical bowling alley fayre really, made a couple of quid that's all. As Ady says, altering price per play won't make the game less fair. At low 70s for most £5 machines, gameplay will be harsh. However there is a Wheel of Wealth in the local bowling alley near me. On £25 jackpot this was a horrible machine. very often £10 in for a £2 board. On £5 jackpot this seems to play very generous. I've had £15 off the repeat a couple of times and ... touch wood... it hasn't taken the piss yet. Perhaps they're experimenting with better %s?

Anyway take the loss on the chin and be more cagey next time you play there, if there is a next time.

Also thanks to whoever posted the Mecca link for the Crystal Maze SWP Roms. Much appreciated.

Thanks for the info Impact, although I cannot understand why £8/10p is not allowed (80 times stake), but £25/25p is allowed (100 times stake)

Just seems a bit strange to me... :bigeyes09:
