on a more serious note, its never good to get into debt full stop, let alone an addiction where you see little or nothing back... everyone is in debt somehow, but they may have a big tv, or computer or a fab holiday to show for it...

i personally have not been addicted to fruitys, ive blown money on them but nothing has come out of it other than being skint for the rest of the week.....

you can only do what you feel best, counselling, just flat out steer clear of them, or cut down, have less access to your funds, its silly but may work... but if you enjoy the machines and your debt isnt as bad as you think then look at it this way... when you give up the machines your gonna find something to sub it with, and thatll cost money aswell....

sorry if this dosent help, i have a pretty strange life view sometimes..

the way they get around it is by selling the time and effort it took them to compile the roms so they are not actually selling the contents, just the time to gather the contents....

i got into fruit machine emulation by buying a cd off ebay and im damn glad of it, im only 56k so would have took ages to gather all the fruitys ive got...

i also have bought a mame dvd(3 infact) from the states for $25(13ish quid), it has all 5200 currently available roms, would you want to find and download all of that on a 56k, nearly 15gb of stuff, not me...

the way i see it is there profit is my gain, if it were legal it would cost 2-3 times more and id still buy a copy off ebay.

i can understand you guys(and gals) spending you time doing layouts and other people profiting from them and all i can say is, if its a problem to you then charge for them, pook and troutman have done loads of layouts, they could do a sizeable cd to sell, but there is always the legal copyright issue thats if you want info on i could see my sister as retail and copyright law is her forte, then you could see if you can actually legally sell them..

i have sunset riders on mame, in fact i have loads, 1012 working roms to be exact, some are duplicates under a different name, pac man was also puck man etc...., but i easy have about 800 games, i also have megadrive emulators, snes and neo geo ones, there the best, all the classics, hyper sport, street fighter 2, mortal kombat 1, 2 and 3, the lot........

ill not charge you for them just postage and disc, or anything you may have to offer in exchange.....

many a time its happened to me, you have a few too many down the pub and suddenly you turn into bandit god mode, you dont need too look at what your doing, you automatically know which button to press cos you are BANDIT GOD....

i kid you not 7 ish years ago i had to go cash machine 3 times after turning into the god and between boulder dash, italian job and indiana jones and getting well rat arsed i went through £130.00....... this is why i tend to not go down the pub anymore, okay okay, i dont go down the pub anymore cos of the wife and 2 nippers but this would be the next best excuse.....

i use avant browser, its a great browser that has its own ad blocker that works a treat... get rid of internet explorer and you will solve you pop up problem...
