Is it more fun gambling when minted or skint??

13 April 2005 - 05:32 PM

Just wandering when people enjoy gambling the most.

I've gambled with my paypacket before, and gone all out for jp's, streaks, etc, rejecting guarenteed jp in the hope of forcing a streak....etc

I have also started off just with a couple of quid in my pocket sometimes (ie, waiting for a train), and have spent ages contemplated if this crap sounding feature may get me £3!!, knowing i will be out if i lose

Anything stopping manufacturers from going online??

10 April 2005 - 02:19 PM

Anyone know if it is possible for manufacturers like say Barcrest to put machines online.

I have occasionally played online machines via gambling websites, and one of the main reasons I donn't play often is that they are all big stake big win, and that the gameplay is awful.

I'm sure makers could develop an arcade style room where there are say 100 machines, just make them play the same as real machines, with only one person allowed to use each virtual machine at the same time

Most intimidating arcade you've ever been in?

25 March 2005 - 06:37 PM

After a visit to london yesterday I found myself with a 30min gap until my train departed. There is an arcade directly opposite Kings cross station, can't remember its name, but its got to be one of the most intimidating arcades ever to play in, due to the number of eyes looking at you. It was one of those times when you were preying your money ran out so you could leave :-)

The second most intimidating one i've ever been in is an arcade at the bottom of west street, Brighton if anyone has everr heard of it. If you win a fair amount you prey the coins don't make a noise when collecting, lol

Anyone play smokin biker?

25 March 2005 - 06:27 PM

Any experts on this machine may be able to answer my query.

Was playing the £5jp version earlier, and the following scenario occured:

Got invincible mode, and almost straight away got hi-lo notes red (upgrade), but was still low on the cash ladder. I carried on around the board for a bit, during which time i rolled in an 11. Anyone who's played the machine will know the hi-lo notes goes £2 start, win hi-lo another £3, win hi lo again another £5, win hi lo again another£5 and so on.

My question is: If i was on an 11, in invincible mode, on hi-lo notes, if i went higher than an 11 on my first hi-lo (ie, to win £3 to make total of £5) would I have won? obviously, on a 12 it would guarentee me another £5 from going lower on the next hi-lo being the reason i would go high on an 11. however, surely invincible mode means jp, and losing on an 11 would result in winning only £2, thus not jackpot??

Classic amateur mistakes....what are yours?

14 March 2005 - 07:24 PM

Those top notch mistakes you make, which make you laugh looking back at them. My top 3 are: (all from experience)

1. Being Greedy - Jackpot is already won (had "done the job" on Italian job), had extra life. Thought process was "might as well carry on, can't lose anything as i had extra-life", a few roles of the die later, and landed on ? (mystery), it gave me collect prize of step to nearest (cherries). Bugger.

2. Loss of concentration - doing alright on the board, get nudges to bring in the symbols, not paying attention, suddenly i've nudged in cherries by mistake. Suffer the indignity of collecting a pound.

3. Bad Luck / Bad Preparation - Basically....9 reel blasts, jp symbol in sight, collect blasts, guarenteed jp.....this is when you find out some bulbs are blown, and the lcd display doesn't give anything away, and you end up guessing the win.

Any other nominees?
