When I view the files they don't seem to be any type of file, they just have the windows logo on.

I really dont seem to be getting anywhere..I have downloaded everything, unzipped the files, and MFE still doesnt recognise any of the layouts etc. I have tried always eight, exchanges unlimeted, and now road hog, they are all mfe..I think

Hi all 
Am new to this site..Have done all the downloads..when I run MFME..it doesnt recognise any of the layouts /roms I have downloaded! When I looked at the actual files..windows doesn't seem to know what type of file they are..am I missing a crucial bit of software? or am i being really dumb? (probably the latter)
