I didn't have GHOST, and rather than the easy "torrent" solution 
I used a program called DRIVEIMAGE XML, free to use and worked first time. Thanks again.

Thanks for the info guys. I took the drive out and made an image of the three partitions then transferred them to a new HDD, plugged it into the gamebox and bingo! all now working with a quiet and hopefully long lasting hard drive I didn't have GHOST, and rather than the easy "torrent" solution I used a program called DRIVEIMAGE XML, free to use and worked first time. Thanks again.
