I have been following F1 for over 12 years now. I don't think that Alonso is that special - he has been in the best car for over a year and he should be winning. Micheal schumachers performance last year was not that spectacular and he only won 1 race involving 6 cars in America, he is a good driver but it proves that you need to have the best car to win and no amount of talent can make up for the the lack of performance in a car.
There is nothing wrong with Jenson Button's performance. He is our best driver at the moment and he is Britain's best chance this year. The honda car is not that bad but needs to find some speed to challenge the Renaults for race wins. Honda seems to be also lacking in fuel stop strategies - they always seem to hit traffic at the wrong time. At the moment Jenson is thrashing Barrichello and it would be interesting to see how that pans out.
They two top teams this year seem to be Renault and Honda followed by Mc Laren , Ferrari and Williams. Nico Rosberg seems to be a very good driver and I am sure he will go far - but it is early days yet.
This is shaping up to be a good season with several teams being really close in lap times.
