No license required for an SWP, you mean the MGD presumably?
I do indeed. Thanks.
I used the term SWP because many assume redemption machines fall into the Skill With Prizes category.

Just had a week touring the south south east coast,Brighton,Eastbourne,Hastings,Margate,Hearne Bay,and the majority of arcades are full of win ticket machines not many cash ones left,is this the future of sea side arcades i don't want to win tickets for silly prizes, and it would take a week of winning to get a decent prize, even the camp sites are full of them, what is the reason for this something to do with tax and make more money for the arcades i suppose,we will have to emulate ticket machines soon
It's just a sign of the times I'm afraid.
It used to be pinball machines and electromash in the 60's-70's
Video games emerged to join fruity's, grabbers and coin pushers in the late 70's-90's
Redemption (ticket) machines joined the fruity's, grabbers and coin pushers in the 90's-00's
Anything left, being phased out 00's-10's
Redemption machines (ticket spitters) are a huge revenue for arcade owners. If the owner picks up the crappy Chinese imports, these machines cost as little as £4,000!
EVERYONE can play them (which means kids constantly bug their parents for change) and you don't have to pay out for SWP licences.
And once someone has spent £30-£40 on winning tickets, they can redeem them for a badminton set that could be purchased at the Pound Shop.
