adyb, mself, i would only play a pta if i had seen at least 200 go down the back. even then i would play for one or two wins on the lower reels to see if they would go up. this limits the damage. if they don't i would still walk away. pta's are not the same as golden games for example, which you can read and accurately predict. i do not know how to play pta - some do - but i view them as being nothing more than dangerous wallet emptiers. i am quite happy leaving them alone.
i can see the validity of siting it in a pool or snooker club, but not a pub. as has been said, these things, like all lo tecs are long cycle, and so require a largish investment to get it going. if sited in a pub, where the majority are 'change from the round' type people most would get nowt from their investment (and i use investment both times in the loosest sense of the word), subsequently it will get a bad rep as paying nowt, and the masses will ignore it.
why would you want a single player? surely half of the appeal of pta for the operator is that people seeing others getting a good streak up top will entice them to play in the other positions on the multiplayer.
