Am i working backwards? LOL!

18 October 2004 - 08:26 PM

:-? hi everyone, i might sound back to front to everyone else on this site but im after little help on how to burn roms i have back to the eproms. Its mainly the barcrest roms i will be burning but am wanting to do all machines or will need to at some point. I can burn either .bin roms or .hex but most of the roms i have picked up are all split up. Is there anyway of putting them back together to 1 file. I have no idea how the roms are read for the emulators you use and thus am a bit stuck? Ill give an example.....

spice is right (barcrest mpu5) roms i have...
tsir08y.p1, tsir08s.p1, tsir08r.p1, tsir08h.p1 , tsir08dy.p1, tsir08d.p1, tsir08bd.p1, tsir08b.p1, tsir08ad.p1, tsir08.p4, tsir08.p3, tsir08.p2, tsir06s, tsir06.bin

I need the roms in just 4 parts to burn as eproms p1 p2 p3 p4. As you can see eprom p1 has 9 parts to it. Not sure if im missing anything simple here so bare with me. All of the files have the same file size so was wondering if they have been compressed somehow and split. Ill give another example......

club crazy fruits (bellfruit scorp4).....

ccf_dat_acss.hi, ccf_dat_acss.lo, ccf_std_acss.hi, ccf_std_acss.lo, 95004145.hi, 95004144.lo

For this i need the same as the other in 4 files. 2 sound and 2 data (hi/lo). If anyone can shed some light on this subject i would really be gratefull. Will return any favour in return if i can help.

P.S not clued up on the emulator seen but if the mpu5 emulator is so hard to emulate wouldnt it be possible to connect up an mpu5 board to a pc somehow and try get round it that way? actually use the board to run the roms on the pc? but what about the gal and chr chip. TILT! only an idea which someone has probably already thought of.

Thank you all.
