The change to the IOC timers 1 & 2 didn't get through which is why the 2khz timer still fails it checks ( the internal timers need a closer look at ).

I think at this point its a good idea to start looking closer at the AA and try to get that working or at least
get the OS booting. The main problem for now is that the arch docs for ARM do not really explain in depth
what I need to know.

So with that all said, Australian slot enthusiasts are pretty much forced to either waste their cash down at the local to play these machines, or we have to rely on people online to supply software for us to enjoy.

I don't see much enjoyment coming out of owning an old decommissioned slot machine, take away any potential rewards given when you win on a pay line and you end up with an utterly boring experience. An arcade machine can give you some for of entertainment value but such games are based on skill not purely on chance, even some of the entertainment value of arcade games is taken away because you are not spending coins and its hard to reproduce that experience you had as a kid when you used to play them at the arcade or the corner shop.

Any further updates on MK4 / Mk5 and beyond?

I know there's a few emulators for MK6 machines out there stand alone (50 Lions, Atlantis, Indian Dreams and Orchid) but these were a special one off thing.

I have the ROMs for Queen of the Nile and a couple other MK5 ROMS but none of them work so far.

Pretty frustrating really as we're seeing Aristocrat releasing EMUs for some newer machine via the US iTunes store, but as usual, are completely screwing the Australian population who's only access to these games are down at the local pub/RSL where millions are lost each year.

If there's any further updates to the EMU side of things to Australian pokies, let me know!

MK4 is almost complete as far as the emulation side of things goes. There are still some devices/signals not hooked up properly such as the note acceptor. I think there was also a problem with a "mechanical meters disconnected" error message displaying for U.S games but frasher has recently fixed it. My guess is that there won't be a submission before the note acceptor is added since U.S games won't be playable anyway.

As for Mark 5. The 2khz timer & dram emulator has been hooked up and are both working recently but there are still a bunch of tests ( serial comms/mikohn,serial eeproms & driver board signals ) to get through before we see any "familiar" screens.

It's not Aristocrat who are screwing players. Its the new regulations which impose so many restrictions on game design. This is the reason why the present games suck and the norm is less volatility, smaller but more frequent pays, crappy paying & frequent multi-screen features [ more of an annoyance because u only care about the FG ]. Big jackpots are a thing of the past. Play an old game if you can and I mean old. If you going to play a machine then King Of The Nile ( NSW version ) is the best out there since it was approved but forget it if you're in Queensland.. you can't repeat your free games.
