In Topic: Winspin ( 2P / £1.50 Jp ) Request

01 February 2011 - 03:40 PM

Having been a member for so many years I am sure you could guess the answer that is going to be posted - that is, we don't have the ROMs. There is a Dutch game called Win_Spin, but that is far too new. The first step would be to find the ROMs and get them dumped. Then, if the technology has been emulated a layout can be done. If you ever find the machine or a picture of one, make sure you get piccies and upload them to resources as that will make the DX better when the ROMs do turn up.

There is a thread on the Mecca about "most wanted", it may be good to repeat your post over there as those old buggers have all sorts in their boxes of bits.........

Yeah i knew the roms were not available or I would have made the layout myself.

Im not even sure of the technology of the mainboard. I have tried to find pictures of it but to no avail. I can picture it in my head and know the sound samples off by heart but I dont think I could replicate it well enough to warrant the fine quality of the layouts produced by people here and on the other boards and sites.

I will keep trying to find something. Maybe I am just not searching deep enough.

Thanks

In Topic: Secure Belkin home networking

10 February 2007 - 05:02 AM

took me 10mins to setup my wireless with a belkin router.

using 128bit encryption i simply created a key, set the key up on each network card on the network. et voila. fully working encrypted network.

I swapped to wireless from a cable network and tbh i h8 it. wireless is meant for taxis not home networking.

It works tho and i surf, download and play online games fine (albeit with a higher ping).

All I would suggest is to persist because you will at the very least learn something new. Also its not belkin hardware thats the problem its the people who use it.

In Topic: fruit machine emptying device

I think it's wrong that people even consider using something like this.

By all means play machines using skill and knowledge to try and empty them but using something to manipulate a machine like this is straightforward theft. If you do it in a quiet pub then even more shame on you as it will come out of the friendly barman's pocket rather than the fruit machine manufacturer's.

Boooo.

When is a gamble not a gamble?

When its a club fruit machine called Monopoly that doesnt go above £30.

When is a percentage not a percentage?

When its a fruit machine counting in square roots.

anyone who is enterprising enough to make one of these devices that works reliably deserves to get paid. damn hes probably been inspired to it by being ripped off by so many dodgy fruit machines its unfair.

If it did work it would certainly make that holiday to blackpool a hell of a lot better :)

In Topic: MPU5 CONTINUED!!!

still tho...

if we had MPU5 kits to work with you really think the scene will die?

i dont.

For one we will have MPU5 :D

In Topic: MPU 5!!!!! WILL IT EVER HAPPEN???

Right... 2 points here.

1. This site is for archiving old techs not used anymore to avoid affecting manufacturers profits. Bullshit tbfh. This may be the reason this site is here but almost every arcade is running MPU4 machines....re-chipped or not.

2. Obviously someone has coded an MPU5 emu. Maybe someone from the scene here. Manufacturers have this......but it makes you wonder why they would commission an emulator which leads me to believe someone got paid. I might be making base for spooky conspiracy theories here but what would happen is this scene DID make an emulator?.

Would the manufacturers try stop us? probably
Would they take away all the resources needed? erm didnt they alreday do that? scene still here.
What makes anyone think that if this scene coded an MPU5 emulator (or even scorpion) that what scene we have would die? Just like the warez scene we will find people in the workplace to aid us. To goto even further lengths it would be possible for any of us to learn how to manage and fix machines and get access to what we need. Not forgetting the old "omg they invented digital cameras that we can walk into any arcade with".

I think it's only polite to the manufacturers to respect their products.
I also think everyone of us has paid enough in percentages to warrant access to this tech. Im in this to stop my addiction....my illness. Im doing ok now but I fear one day that the MPU3/4 (and other) scenes will dry up of interest. Where will that leave me then?

personally i'd invest all of my time in coding such an app. At least I will be spending my time and not what little money I have.
